Domination Interview - interview|
| (hx) 09:54 AM CET - Feb,21 2005 | Computer
Games Magazine has posted
an
interview with Yann Tisseyre of
Wargaming.net as he
talks about
Domination (previously known as Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance) ,
their upcoming sequel to their turn based sci-fi strategy game Massive Assault.
Domination is slated to release for Windows during February in North America and
during April in Europe. Here's a slice:
Computer Games - What was the main goal in creating Domination to make it
better than Massive Assault?
Yann Tisseyre - OK, those major points of criticism in Massive Assault were:
tremendous AI difficulty, no diversity in units for the two sides, no real
storyline in the campaigns, poor voice acting and no LAN play. Plus the requests
for a wider variety of player's options. Wargaming.net has attended all these
issues: AI now has flexible settings from "relaxing" to "Impossible", "smart"
scripts are used to make sure the game's flow brings fun and satisfaction, there
are additional unique units for each side. Now the game has two solid campaigns
with intriguing and immersive plot, more than twenty professional voice talents
were used for narrator and character voiceovers, the game can now be played over
LAN in real-time style, and various gameplay settings can now be tuned.
Moreover, the developers added two brand-new gaming modes and came up with
dozens of other substantial improvements and endless number of minor ones.
