Return to Mana HL2 mod Q&A - interview|
| (hx) 11:56 AM CET - Jan,25 2005 |
German gaming website Ego
Games has posted
a translated version of Q&A with Dieblein (thanks
HL2Central), leader of
the team of fantasy-adventure Half-Life 2 mod
"Return to Mana".
Here's an excerpt:
EG|Asch: What do you expect from the HL2 engine, which seems more fitting for action-related mods like ego-shooters and how do you want to use these in an adventure?
Dieblein: The HL2-engine has some limitations. The size of the rooms is limited to mid-range areas for example. We plan to create a small, contemplative world with short distances, but creating the illusion that everything is extremely wide. This means: no far-cry-like islands with 40km size, but small areas with an extreme amount of detail, animation and gamedesign
