Duke Nukem Still A Reality? - briefly
(hx) 05:01 PM CET - Nov,19 2004
I had heard that the release date for Duke Nukem Forever was supposed to be December 31th, 2004....:-D Just kidding! :) Well, it's been a while since we've heard about  Duke Nukem Forever. Regardless of whatever it is you've been doing for the last several years, though, Duke Nukem Forever has been (probably) in development that entire time. And now, for the first time in... well, forever, some real official conversation about the game has finally begun to surface. This post by Duke Nukem Forever producer George Broussard (thanks PC.IGN) relates rather directly to the progress of the game:
So...

Assume there are Pig Cops running wild through Vegas and fighting against Earth forces or harrassing human civilians.

Feel free to post any interesting scripted events that contain the above elements. Nothing too complex. I'm talking about little 5-8 second things that you can see happening in the distance, or as you enter a new area, or whatever. Nothing that's 20 seconds long. Nothing that's going to invole 20 actors.

Examples: You walk up to a corner and see a Pig Cop dragging an EDF Soldier by his feet behind the wall. Or you walk up and see a Pig Cop holding an EDF Soldier off the ground with 1 arm, choking him, then he tosses the body aside.

think action moives. Think short, sweet and focused and things that aren't so complex you have to worry about interrupting them.

We have plenty of ideas, but it's always good to hear from people that play games.

I'll check back from time to time.

yeah yeah... ask people who play games, so you're sure to get a game that will look like all the other games...

Ive pretty much just giving up on the idea that this game is or isnt coming out in the near future. It was stupid of 3drealms to give us a peek of the game back in 2001..They say it doesnt look anything like that now and they have moved to another engine. If they would have built there enging from scratch just like HL2 and quite trying to mod dead Engines DNF would be out by now..BUT NOooo..They couldnt do that.Oh well, others games are coming like stalker.Maybe, who knows about that game anymore. The people in 3drealms should stop posting and leave the site.I'm curious to see what would happen?

It was funny for a while, about this Duke Nukem Fornever, but now I’m just sick of hearing about it. I don’t want to hear another thing unless the words “Gold” and “It Has Gone” are in the sentence.

Look at this pathetic SOB, trolling fan boards to get free scripting done for his multi-million dollar vaporware. Talk about outsourcing--you design his game, and then pay for it!

Ironicaly on this months PCZone there are a few playable demos of the DNF physics engine that is being used ( a driveable jeep over an assault course with soldiers to run down! and barrels, watch towers, jumps to use plus untextured demos) it was pretty good. It surprised me to say the least as i didn't realise that it was going to have full physics.

Still, we'll wait and see eh...
