Far Cry Patch v1.3 + Linux Server - patch|

As promised, Ubi Soft has released the long-awaited
new patch (local
US mirror ~ 74MB) for Far Cry, updating this tropical island first-person
shooter by Crytek Studios to version 1.3. The patch fixes several bugs, and also
adds Normal Map Compression and SM 3.0 and SM 2.0x support. Note: Save games
from previous versions are not compatible with 1.3. Also available is
the first dedicated Linux server (6MB), complete with documentation.
Patch 1.3 change log
* Fixed a crash with the ForkLift when loading some levels.
* Fixed a bug that prevented levels from loading after saving in a previous
level.
* Returned surround 5.1 sound option to the menu.
* Fixed a mounted weapon traverse problem.
* Fixed a delay relating to tagging enemies in binocular mode.
* Improved tangent-space calculation to improve bumpmap quality.
* Anisotropic filtering disabled for some textures (light-maps, several lookup
textures, fall-off maps) for increased performance. * Improved syncronization in
multiplayer.
* Fixed bug in leaning with different player classes.
* Fixed an invisible wall exploit in mp_freighter.

The joke is on you buddy. Over-hyped? THis game was barely advertised
when it was released and most people agree it's better than Doom 3. |

| th4t1guy | (11:35 PM CEST - Oct,26 2004 ) | Maybe you could tell me why all the reviews gave it a 92% or greater when it was obviously released too early, and the gameplay is probably the most tedious of any fps I've played. This game has about as much polish as a hobo's boots. At this rate, any game released in the next year will be scoring 150% (as long as it's an fps).
Although it's not too difficult to believe, seeing how there will always be people who favor image over substance. |
