During our brief recent experience with playing Ultimate Baseball Online, we discovered that the net code, perhaps the biggest hurdle the game has to face, is still working well. Players in the pick-up game we played were able to operate with no real indication of lag. While most console baseball games, even those that are able to be played online, still allow the players to control the entire team, Ultimate Baseball Online gives people the change to play center field or second base or catcher with eight other players on their team with nine other humans playing the positions on the opposing team.

Our biggest gripe with the game currently are the graphics, which were solid back when we last played the game but now don’t look as good compare to the current console baseball titles. We think that at least some work needs to be done in this area in order for the game to be competitive with upcoming console baseball titles.
