That's the first useless feature i turn off on the card. VPU recover.. pfff, whatever. Nice how they put out this fast little update for this unknown game.. wonder what the real story behind this is.

you never get it on nvidia because its an ATi feature :P
it stops the program if it detects that the vpu is going to crash - saving a reboot.
i never saw it in action though. but its nice with a safeguard.
| FX5900 | (06:09 PM CEST - Sep,27 2004 ) | Thank you El_Coyote for an intelligent answer without personalized attacks.
A feature to protect against attacks? Tells you something about ATI's quality expectations of their own GPU's. :D
| Rasded | (07:29 PM CEST - Sep,27 2004 ) | | I aplogize for the personal attacks.However your still off base on this topic. | |
| xxxx | (08:20 PM CEST - Sep,27 2004 ) | | The VPU recover is useless but a good idea none the less. I have had games that take time to switch resolutions and what occurs is VPU recover thinks the game is crashing, yet after clearing the VPU recover report thing, the game continues on. I just disable the feature as soon as i install drivers. @FX5900, your comments in regards to GPU quality. 100% agree, ATI and it's drivers suck the big one. What refreshing is to know it continues in ATI's X800 and lower cards too. Many game issues both performance and lockup situations. It's fun just to read them. | |
