Empire Earth II Interview - interview|
| (hx) 11:05 AM CEST - Sep,22 2004 |
HomeLAN
has conducted an interview with Dr. Ian Davis of Mad Doc Software as he
talks about
Empire
Earth II, the upcoming centuries spanning real-time strategy sequel for
publisher VUGames. The is slated for release in Q1/2005. Here's a bit:
HomeLAN - What will the single player campaigns be like?
Dr. Ian Davis - An awful lot of research went into constructing campaigns that take you from the beginning of our timeline to the future of mankind. In Empire Earth 2, there will be three campaigns, and each has eight scenarios. For example, we begin with the Ancient Korean Campaign, this covers the early epochs of the game and concentrates on the founding and unification of the Korean people. There's the German Campaign, which starts at the founding of Prussia, and through its eights scenarios it gives you a broad sense of the German state and how it affected history. And of course, we have the American Campaign, which begins with the Spanish-American War and takes you into the near future in a post Cold-War setting. I especially like the German Campaign's third scenario, it's at the very end of the Teutonic Knights. This is a brutal defense scenario, and it provides a great deal of challenge. It's got that "ticking time bomb" kind of drama.
