Pro Evolution Soccer 4 - release date set - briefly|
| (hx) 05:49 PM CEST - Sep,20 2004 |
Konami of Europe
today announced the PS2 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will be released on
October 15th. Versions for Xbox and PC-DVD will follow in November.
Developed by KCE TYO, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is certain to further establish the series' reputation as the definitive football title. Due for release on PlayStation 2, PC DVD and - for the first time in its history - Xbox, every aspect of the game has been reworked; from the menu system through to the way players control and move the ball around. Each player now benefits from more statistics that determine just how they react when bringing the ball under control, while a massively enhanced control system allows for more close control when dribbling past defenders, while first time volleys, chipped shots and through balls all benefit from KCE TYO's improvements.
The new game has also enjoyed a number of major additions, including the use of 56 clubs under the license from the Spanish and Dutch leagues and each club from the Italian league, and will also feature three of the game's most recognizable figures on its packaging, in the form of Premiership Golden Boot holder Thierry Henry and Italy's prolific front man, Francesco Totti. They are joined by Pierluigi Collina - the internationally respected match official - who also appeared on the packaging for Pro Evolution Soccer 4's predecessor.
Other new additions include all-new free kick techniques and more individuality in both the way players move and how they look. Players will now be recognisable in the way they run and kick the ball, while the physical likenesses are even closer. In keeping with this, players also now get dirty as matches progress, while the physical injuries seen in Pro Evolution Soccer 3 are also added to. Injured players will now be stretchered off to have treatment, and can also sustain injuries that will force them out of Master League matches for an entire season!
