- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl preview - GameSpot has
posted
a new preview of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, the upcoming
tactical first person shooter which is now scheduled to ship in Q1/2005. As it
stands right now, THQ is looking to start its second beta test in September,
and there's talk of a public beta in November.
- Full Spectrum Warrior preview -
GameSpot has posted a new preview of
Full Spectrum
Warrior, the upcoming Xbox-PC military tactical shooter based on a
simulation made for the US Army. Full Spectrum Warrior is currently in
development at Pandemic Studios and will be available in October 2004.
- Tribes: Vengeance preview - PC.IGN has posted
a new
preview of Tribes: Vengeance, the upcoming first person shooter from
Irrational Games and VUGames. Tribes: Vengeance is scheduled to ship in
October 2004. In related news, VUGames sends word that
Tribes: Vengeance
characters are going to be on MTV's Video Mods in the song "Cmon Cmon" by
the Von Bondies.
- TeleFragged Xbox DOOM 3 preview - TeleFragged have published
their
preview of Xbox DOOM 3: "The Xbox has 64MB of system memory, which is
more than any of the other consoles, but that's abysmally low from a PC gaming
standpoint. I''s a wonder to me, then, that they managed to stuff so much of
the original game into the system memory at once. Levels aren't broken into
tiny little pieces, the textures still looked sufficient, and just about all
of the layered sound atmosphere made it into the game."
- Troika: Interview - Hardwired.hu has posted
an
interview with Troika's Leon Boyarsky as he talks about the two
post-apocalyptic screens that
NMA revealed
recently.
- DOOM 3 Linux Q&A - LinuxGames have posted
an interview with Timothee Besset of id as he explains "why id even
bothers porting to Linux", and what's the status of the DOOM 3 [Linux]

- Silent Hunter III Trailer - There's

movie trailer for Silent Hunter III (direct
link), showing off the World War II submarine simulation game being
developed at Ubi Soft Romania.
- Ford Racing 3 Trailer - Empire Interactive has released
a new
movie trailer for Ford Racing 3, their upcoming racing simulation sequel
that's currently in development at Razorworks.
- Restricted Area: Games Convention Trailer - RPGDot have posted
the official Restricted Area trailer (20MB) from the recent German Games
Convention in Leipzig.
- Battle Mages retail patches v1.2 - Targem has released
a new patches (2.7MB) for
Battle Mages, bringing
the English and
German editions of the 3D role-playing strategy game to version 1.2. This
release adds support for additional maps, and also includes a couple of
balance tweaks and a handful of bug fixes.
- Quake 3 to DOOM 3 Convertor - The chaps over at
Quake.de have posted up
a nifty little program
that can be used to convert the maps from Quake 3 Arena to maps that can be
used in DOOM 3. The
convertor automatically extracts and converts textures needed by the map,
copies the material list to the right place, and extracts and converts models

- Medieval Lords German Demo - There is a German
playable demo for
Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand, offering you the first chance to
try out the 3D city building / management strategy game by Monte Cristo.

- Anacondas: 3D Adventure Game demo -
Anacondas: 3D Adventure Game is the recently released (free) third-person
action adventure that ties into the imminent Sony Picture motion picture

- Ghost Recon 2 to be two different games -
Ubisoft confirms that the Xbox and PC version of the game will be set
seven years apart from the PlayStation 2 and GameCube "prequel."
- Fable Goes Gold (Xbox) - Fable, the hugely anticipated RPG title
for the Xbox which is currently in development at Lionhead satellite studio
Big Blue Box,
has finally been completed, according to reports which have emerged in the
past day. The game has been in development for more than four years, having
been originally announced by renowned game creator Peter Molyneux - founder of
the Lionhead studio - as Project Ego back in mid-2001.
- Rise of Nations Gold Edition Announced -
The Rise of Nations Gold Edition is nothing else than a repackaged version
of the RTS game that includes the Thrones and Patriots expansion. RoN Gold
will be released this fall.
- IDW Publishing Reveals 2nd Silent Hill 4: The Room Comic Book -
Building on the success of the Silent Hill mini-series comes Silent Hill:
Among The Damned.
This 48-page tale of bone-chilling horror will thrill fans of the Silent

Just is the game gonna suck or be a masterpiece... i don't know. Hopefully its not a letdown like Doom3. |
