Half-Life 2 Preload on Steam Delayed; Movies - media
(hx) 04:26 PM CEST - Aug,20 2004
Over at Shacknews.com it appears that Erik Johnson of VALVe Software has posted a short note that the Half-Life 2 Preload has been delayed because of tonight's CS:Source update: "We're going to push the start of the preload back until this coming Monday. The main reason was to get out the release (that just happened) to the CS: Source Beta. Erik." In related news, Yahoo! Games Domain has two new E3 2004 Bink format movies. The first is the uninterrupted high-resolution video of Half-Life 2's Train Station level (164MB), while the other is the weird G-Man monologue (46MB) portion of the demo. Mirror: FileRush, 3DGamers.

delays, delays, delays....

That hi-res video is good, but slightly disappointing. Graphics don't look THAT much better. Oh wait... i ran it on my X800 Pro... sorry. :D

trust me man, once you put on all your settings, you'll see it's gonna be nice. i tried CS with everything maxxed and got some video lag a little, turned it down and the graphics are very cool. the blood splatting is amazing too.. there's more to come and so far i'm impressed with cs:s in terms of hl2 engine features. i still have hope from what i seen so far that HL2 is gonna be sweet to mod for..
