  • Counter-Strike: Source Impressions - HalfLife2.net forum member nadomola has had the chance to visit the Counter-Strike: Source presentation by Valve in Seoul, South Korea. While no new information about the game was obtained, he did manage to play on the revamped version of de_dust2, and even managed to secure a few (blurry) shots of play: Image 1, Image 2, Image 3. To view all of his thoughts and opinions on the presentation, be sure the visit the thread.  In addition to nadomola's impressions, Nari CS has posted a large selection of images and video clips.
  • KOTOR II interview part #1 - RPG Vault has posted the first part of an interview with Mike Gallo, the LucasArts' guy, Chris Parker and Chris Avellone.
  • You Are Empty Q&A - Rebell.at has posted a Q&A with Yaroslav Singaevskiy of Digital Spray Studios as they talk about You Are Empty, their upcoming first person shooter.
  • Singles v1.5 US Patch - A new Singles: Flirt up your Life patch is now available, updating the life simulation game to version 1.5. The patch adds a Kitchen Set extension with Coffeemachine, Fruitbasket and Radio, improves memory management and fixes some bugs.
  • Sacred: Patch 1.7 beta patch - The decision to have patch 1.7 go open-beta was the next logical step in the development process. Due to the new network code, especially considering users who are behind routers, it is important for us to gather feedback and make minor changes where required. It also gives us an opportunity to give the community a chance to see what has been happening in these months and to collect further feedback about changes to the balancing which experienced players feel need to be done.
  • Purge Jihad Patch v2.1.1b - A new patch (3.5MB) for Purge Jihad is now available, updating Freeform Interactive's Future versus Fantasy sequel to version 2.1.1b.
  • Electric Billy Demo - StuGroup (Engineer, Petri Heil makers) let us know that they have released a playable demo of Electric Billy, their puzzle game based around powerlines and electricity.
  • Warcraft III Frozen Throne Map - The Warcraft III Bonus Maps Section now features another new map for the Frozen Throne expansion.
  • Navy SEALs Covert Operations v1.91a Beta - Navy SEAL/s: Covert Operations (download 323MB) is a scale realism total conversion for id Software's Q3/TA engine. NS:CO pits players in realistic SEAL and Tango land covert operations in realistic settings with scale weapons, munitions, and equipment. NS:CO is a tactically sophisticated feature rich multi-player game that emphasized teamwork and realistic SEAL SPECWAR missions and tactics.   • Maniac Mansion Deluxe v1.1 - The team behind The New Adventures of Zak McKracken has released a new version 1.1 of Maniac Mansion Deluxe, the 256-colour remake of LucasArts classic adventure.
  • German Gorky Zero Demo - A Gorky Zero: Beyond Honor German demo is now available, offering those who speak German to try out Metropolis' stealthy action game.
  • Jagged Alliance 2 News - Jagged Alliance Galaxy has posted a newly-released utility for Jagged Alliance II called the JA2UC Utilities pack, combining all the tools they used to create Urban Chaos, their popular mod for JA2.
  • The Chronicles of Riddick Confirmed for PC - VU Games has confirmed that The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, the first person action stealth adventure hybrid developed by Starbreeze (Enclave makers) will be available for PC too.
  • Paper Mario 2 website launched [GC] - Nintendo opened the Web site for the upcoming GameCube role-playing game.  Here is a new trailer of the game that runs around two minutes, and shows ample footage of the paper Mario folding and bending his way through various sticky situation. Paper Mario 2 will ship July 22nd in Japan, and the site features a picture of its Japanese box art. The game but won't hit American shores until October.
  • GTA San Andreas on Xbox early? - The following is in the latest issue of the Official XBOX Magazine: "GTA San Andreas may be coming to store shelves sooner than you think! According to one analyst's interpretation of Take Two financial reports (the new holy grail of under-the-radar gaming information), the XBOX version of GTA: SA may race up as soon as Spring 2005. It was assumed by most that the XBOX version would come at least a year after the PS2 version - that's what sony's exclusivity deal with Rockstar entailed for GTA 3 and GTA: VC. But according to this analyst you could be busting caps on your XBOX a lot sooner than that. To which we say: word (thanks GTA Network)
  • Xpand Rally on September - Techland announced that the work on the game has reached the final stage. "The list of features has been closed and now the main focus is on eliminating bugs and tweaking individual elements of the game. As a matter of fact, to consider all of the opinions and incorporate the good ones we had to push the release date for September, but thanks to that we are sure that the best racing game of this year will hit the market."  The second phase of Xpand Rally beta tests starts on Monday.
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Winamp skins - www.oblivion-lost.com is offering three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Winamp skins for download so that people have the feeling of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. while listening to music.
  • Starsiege:2845 updates - The folks behind SS:2845 Project let us know they have released a new public update. Introductions to a bunch of new staff members (5!), pics of the redesigned Cybrid Executioner, a new rifle, and the first pics of the human melee weapons are featured. In addition, they've also posted sneak previews of the compendium we plan on including with the game. The compendium is a 120+ page pictorial manual/historical reference being done in .pdf format for those that wish to print it out.
  • EBGames Says Half-Life 2 September 1st - EBGames says "Pre-Order: Ships on 09/01/2004"
  • Dennis the DeathKnight, the Movie #1 - The first episode of the "Dennis the deathknight movie" is now online, announced Larian Studios.
  • $1,000,000 NVIDIA Make Something Unreal Contest finalists - Epic Games announced the Phase 3 Finalists for the $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal Contest.
  • UT 2004 Mod Author Support Site 04 - Epic Games has  launched a new Unreal Tournament 2004 Mod Author Support Site.The website offers some tutorials, handy files and more.
  • Vivendi sued by programmer over employment law breaches -  A programmer working for Vivendi Universal Games' Knowledge Adventure division, Neil Aitken, has filed a lawsuit against his employer - claiming that the publisher falsified timesheets to avoid paying overtime to him and his colleagues. Aitken has been working for the company as a programmer since February 2000, and is paid on the basis of a 40 hour week - but claims that he and his colleagues regularly work more than 12 hours a day, without being paid overtime. While such a tale is unlikely to raise many eyebrows around an industry where these kind of hours of unpaid labour are expected from many employees, they're of some interest legally in California, where Aitken works and the lawsuit has been filed.
  • The Truth Comes Out - Penny Arcade has done a fun little comic strip for today all about the recent fun Interplay has been having.
