 The Sims 2 Interview #1 - interview
(hx) 07:07 PM CEST - Jul,03 2004
The chaps over at Warcry.com have posted the first part of interview with Lucy Bradshaw, Executive Producer and Vice President for The Sims 2 as he talks about their upcoming 3D virtual life simulation sequel. The Sims 2 (gameplay movie) is slated for release in September 2004. Here is an excerpt:
Hearing this response gave us a chuckle because of the excitement in the Sims community about Create-A-Sim, the in game program that will allow you to customize your Sims and import fan-creations. This level of detail, combined with the prediction of what might result from the genetic experimentation, is going to set that crowd on fire. We asked Lucy what types of customization options will be available, and how will that feature work. "A great deal of attention was spent on Create-A-Sim. Not only can you create the genetic offspring of your Sims, and create their family relationships, you can really create vastly unique looking Sims using the controls we created for editing their faces and selecting their accessories, clothing, facial features, hair color, eye color, hair style etc. If you really just want to get into the game, you can select from some pre-made Sims, and then simply dress them how you want. If you want to spend some time here, the control you have is really deep. You select the facial archetype, and then you can really modify almost any aspect of their faces; hair color, eye color, skin tone, hair style, length of their chin, pout of their mouth, turn of their eyes, width of their nose, whether they have whiskers or not, bushy eyebrows, or long lashes." They have clearly built the most advanced character creation system ever designed, and all the choices are in the player's hands.
