McGuffin, and Robin Johnson talk about animation.. Here is an excerpt:
Q: When do animations stop on a character and ragdoll begin? How realistic do the physics look?
A: We have the ability to adjust the timing and percentage of the blend between animation and ragdoll. The death system is location and direction specific as well, and with the timing/tuning of the transition to ragdoll we'll have far more exciting death animations.
