- Joint Operations Patch (updated) - NovaLogic has released
an updated patch for Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, consolidating the
previous full v1.2.0.7 and incremental v1.2.0.7 updates into one download. You
do not need this update if you have already received the update through the
update wizard.
- Unreal II - the Awakening European XMP full install - Atari has
finally released
a European edition of the XMP (275MB) add-on full install for owners of
Unreal II - the Awaking, expanding Legend Studios' FPS. This release deploys
the latest version (7710), and as before it's a standalone game that requires

- Second SpellForce Expansion in the works? -
1up.com is reporting that the first expansion (trailer)
for developer Phenomic's RPG
Spellforce: The Order
of Dawn has been available for less than two weeks (Ed.note: probably only
in Germany), but the game's UK publisher, BigBen, has already alluded to a
second expansion due out later this year. Tentatively titled Spellforce:
Extention 2, the expansion is shrouded in secrecy aside from its targeted
December release.
- Starshatter released - Matrix Games and Destroyer Studios have
released Starshatter,
their 3D space combat simulation game. Starshatter includes three
different flight models with options which range from a Newtonian-physics
vector-based model to arcade play, ala other space combat games, to
atmospheric airplane-style flight.

- Port Royale 2 Gets US Publisher - Ascaron Entertainment and Tri
Synergy today announced a North American distribution partnership for the
Ascaron Entertainment designed PC title,
Port Royale 2. A 16th and 17th Centuries Sea based, real time strategy
game full of pirates, pillaging, plundering, you can even control the
expansion of the New World. Port Royale 2 will released in September of 2004.

- Starcraft: Ghost Developer Named -
Blizzard Entertainment
has announced plans to enter into an agreement with Swingin' Ape Studios for
the collaborative development of multi-platform titles based on Blizzard
licenses. Their first project will be to continue work on the upcoming
tactical-action console game, StarCraft: Ghost.
