- Hellforces Interview - HomeLAN has posted
an
interview with the Orion development team as they talk about Hellforces,
the upcoming first person horror themed shooter from publisher Buka
Entertainment.
- Unreal Engine 3.0 Video - Straight from the nVidia NV40
demonstration comes
a new Unreal Engine 3.0 video demo, featuring all the items which made us
drool from reading the numerous previews, including, but not limited to Normal
Mapping, Ray-tracing, fully dynamic per-pixel lighting, advanced shader

- Apache AH-64 Air Assault demo -
A
playable demo of Apache AH-64 Air Assault is now available, offering a
chance to try out last year's budget-priced combat helicopter game by
InterActive Vision and Activision Value.
- Hellhog XP Demo v1.52 (maintenance release) - StateVector Games has
released
version 1.52 of Hellhog XP (download).
This is a maintenance release fixing the bug "unknown software exception
(0xc0000094)" that might occur on faster Intel CPUs (2.0GHz+) under WinXP and
crashes the game.
- Operation Flashpoint: Resistance / GOTY patches v1.96 - Codemasters
have released a new patches for
Operation Flashpoint: Resistance and the
Operation Flashpoint Game of the Year edition, updating both games to
version 1.96. An updated
Win32 dedicated server is also available.
- Dark Age of Camelot: Catacombs Announced - Mythic Entertainment
announced
Dark Age of Camelot: Catacombs, a retail expansion that introduces new
challenges based on underground environments. The expansion will upgrade
player character art throughout Dark Age of Camelot, add fresh content and
challenges to the game, and introduce new player classes. Mythic plans to make
Catacombs available in December 2004.
- Kingpin Sequel Revealed -
During
Interplay's quarterly financial conference call today it was revealed that
the publisher will be releasing a sequel to Kingpin, their contraversial first
person shooter that was first created by Xatrix Entertainment (now Gray
Matter) back in 1999. The game will be released for PC and Xbox but a
developer and release date was not announced.
- Call Of Duty Announced For N-Gage - Activision and Nokia have
announced that Call Of Duty is currently in development for the N-Gage. The
World War II-themed shooter is slated for release during Q4 2004, and will
make use of Bluetooth wireless technology for multiplayer modes.
- Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg Announced - Battlefront sent us a
press release announcing
Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg.
"Currently in development (scheduled for a Q4, 2004 release), the new grand
strategy masterpiece from award winning game designer Hubert Cater! Combining
the ease of play and accessibility of the original Strategic Command,
Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg adds tons of new features including many player
submitted suggestions. Bigger, better and expandable, Strategic Command 2
Blitzkrieg is an evolutionary as well as revolutionary new grand strategy
game."
- Americas Army Console Games Announced -
Ubisoft
announced that they have entered into a long-term agreement with U.S. Army
to develop and publish console versions of
America's Army games
which are expected on store shelves beginning with the summer of 2005.
- QuakeCon Registration Begins -
The official QuakeCon 2004
website has started registration for the 2004 ediition of the id Software
sponsored free LAN party-event in mid-August in Gaylord, Texas. Note: First,
this registration does not cover the Tournaments. If you wish to participate
in the QuakeCon 2004 Tournaments, there will be a separate registration date.
This date (and details about the tournaments) have yet to be announced.
However, everyone who plans to attend QuakeCon 2004 should still register
starting Wednesday.
- Anarchy Enterprises launches new game portal PartyTop.com - Anarchy
Enterprises (creators of Moon Tycoon and Deep Sea Tycoon) today
launched a major new game
portal website called PartyTop.com. This new game portal delivers quick
and easy downloads of smash-hits like Zuma and Magic Ball, and cutting-edge
games that bring new life to casual gaming like the refreshing hits Age of
Castles and Ant War.
- UT2004: Server Setup Tutorial - The chaps over at AMD Zone
walk you
completely through setting up an Unreal Tournament 2004 server.
- UT2004 DVD Edition Released - This version features UT2004 on one
DVD, and the 3DBuzz VTM's from UT2004 Special Edition on a second disc. There
are a hell of a lot of different versions of UT2004 out there at the moment,
so to clarify: UT2004 6CD Edition, UT2004 Single DVD Edition (features the
game on one DVD), UT2004 Special Edition (limited to 60,000 copies -features
the game on DVD, plus an additional DVD containing visual training modules
from 3DBuzz, a Logitech gaming headset and cheesy metallic box), UT2004
Two-Disc DVD Edition (features the game on DVD, plus the 3DBuzz goodies on a
second disc).
