  • AMD XConnect external GPU technology for Thunderbolt 3 - AMD XConnect technology is a new feature of the Radeon Software 16.2.2 (or later) graphics driver that makes it easier than ever to connect and use an external Radeon graphics card. External Thunderbolt 3 GPU enclosures configured with Radeon R9 300, Fury or Nano Series GPUs can easily connect to a compatible ultrathin or 2-in-1 notebook. Best of all, a setup configured with AMD XConnect technology and external Radeon graphics can be connected or disconnected at any time, just like a USB flash drive-a first for external GPUs
  • The Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Review, Part 1 -  For some time now, Samsung has been the dominant player in the Android space, especially at the high end of the market. From the Galaxy S2 onwards, Samsung has been able to ride the wave of the smartphone industry’s growth without much disruption. Samsung has also shown a pretty impressive ability to adapt to changes in the market as seen by their dramatic departure in materials from the Galaxy S5 generation to the Galaxy S6 generation. While the Galaxy S6 was ultimately one of the best phones you could get that year, at least a few design decisions like the loss of removable battery and microSD slot were generally considered to be a step back relative to previous devices.
  • Apple confirms March 21 event, new 4-inch iPhone expected - Apple has confirmed that it will be holding its spring event this year on March 21. The star of the show on March 21 is expected to be the long awaited 4-inch iPhone model, expected to be dubbed the iPhone SE. According to rumors, the iPhone SE will be powered by the latest Apple A9 chipset and could feature an updated 8MP or even a 12MP resolution iSight camera at the back. A new iPad Pro variant is likely to be introduced at the event as well, sporting a smaller 9.7” display. In terms of specs, the smaller iPad Pro model is expected to retain most of the features of its older and bigger sibling, with only a few features differentiating the two models. In addition to the two key hardware announcements, Apple is likely to announce details on new software and introduce some new bands for the Apple Watch.
  • Google Drops Project Fi Invites, Drops Nexus 5X Price - Google today nixed the invite system it used for Project Fi and opened the MVNO service up to everyone. Project Fi relies on WiFi and cellular access from Sprint and T-Mobile to provide coverage around the U.S. Its software is able to dynamically jump from network to network in order to provide the best-possible speeds and service. Project Fi is novel in that it only charges people for the actual amount of data used each month, rather than for large buckets. Google says the first 10 months of the project have gone well and it is ready to move into the next phase. For the next month, anyone who activates Project Fi will be able to purchase the Nexus 5X handset from LG for $199.99. The phone's normal price is $349.99. Project Fi is only available to Nexus smartphones, including the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, and Nexus 6P. Basic service costs $20 per month, plus $10 per 1 GB of cellular data. Google refunds users for the unused portion of data each month.
  • Chrome 49, with Beacon Support, Reaches Play Store - Google says Chrome version 49 for Android has graduated from the beta channel and is available as a general release in the Google Play Store. Chrome 49 is notable due to its support for Eddystone Bluetooth beacons, which can surface what's known as "physical web" content to nearby devices. Google's Eddystone beacons broadcast content, such as URLs, to Android devices within range. Chrome can interact with those beacons and the content they offer. Push notifications alert Android users to the content, which may contain information about nearby points of interest. Chrome 49 is free to download from the Play Store.
  • USA today is developing a virtual reality news show called VRtually There - Accessed through either a dedicated page on the USA Today website or via its VR stories app, USA Today owner Gannett Co. Inc. claims that VRtually There will be "the first branded news experience presented in VR." Set to begin sometime in spring, the show will have a "true network approach," and feature segments on a range of topics, including politics, sports, technology and finance. The show’s running time and how often it will air has yet to be decided.
  • China Opposes US Action Against ZTE; ZTE Phone Biz Safe - China's Ministry of Commerce says the U.S. Department of Commerce's plan to prevent ZTE from exporting American-made components will be bad for Chinese firms.
  • Bionic Fingertip Gives Sense Of Touch - A bionic fingertip has given an amputee the sensation of rough or smooth textures via electrodes implanted into nerves in his upper arm. Scientists from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and SSSA (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Italy) successfully allowed amputee Dennis Aabo Sorensen to receive this sophisticated tactile information in real-time.
  • The Writer Automaton, Switzerland - A 240 year old doll that can write, a clockwork creation by Pierre Jaquet-Droz, a Swiss watchmaker. The doll is able to write any custom text up to 40 letters long, and it uses a goose feather to write, which he inks from time to time, including a shake of the wrist to prevent ink from spilling. His eyes follow the text being written, and the head moves when he takes some ink. You can view this doll in person at the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire of Neuchatel, in Switzerland.

But that was the idea, was it not?
I don't think it has anything to do with national security - I think it's about US capitalists lobbying together to protect their market share (the Chinese stuff is always cheaper and during the usual 2-3 year contract terms they don't break).
I would keep an eye on the stocks of the US competitors - you will see a jump there.

I guess she should have taken a few dance lessons beforehand - beauty is not enough.
