TechNews - Hotmail is dead! Long live Hotmail! - tech
(hx) 04:09 PM CEST - May,08 2007 - Post a comment / read (5)
  • Intel's CPU architects talk about Penryn, Nehalem - HEXUS.tv posted an interview with Intel's CPU architects Stephen Fischer and Mark Buxton.
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7200 GS Resets The Performance Bar - Nvidia says the GeForce 7200 GS is available immediately at 'aggressive prices under $50' in pre-built PCs and from online retailers. Ahh cool, cheap GFX card for Vista :-)
  • XFX GeForce 8800 Ultra XXX - Uber Performance, Monster Price! - There really is no way you could justify the price increase ($1000-$1100) of the new 8800 Ultra, let alone the XFX XXX edition, not at all and not in the slightest.
  • Samsung Q1 Ultra UMPC Launches at $799 USD - The Q1 Ultra will start at just $799 for the Q1U-EL (late May, entry-level configuration) with a 600MHz processor, 1GB of memory, 40GB HDD and Vista Home Premium.
  • Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision SE tested - The image quality is amazing, The Right Light 2 Technology is spot on now and it works. The camera is very easy to configure and use with most of the popular chat and video messaging systems. If you are into Video Podcasts, Video Chat or anything that you need a webcam for we recommend the Logitech Quick Cam Ultra Vision SE. It is pricey though at $129.99 but it is worth the investment.
  • Hotmail is dead! Long live Hotmail! - The web-based client now more closely emulates its software cousin Microsoft Outlook, with drag-and-drop capabilities, preview pane customization and auto-complete addressing.
  • Mount Wikipedia As A Virtual Filesystem - Thanks to WikipediaFS, Wikipedia fiends tired of reloading pages in the browser can now, provided they're using Linux, mount the site as a virtual filesystem
  • Paint.NET 3.07 Final - Paint.NET (download) is image and photo manipulation software designed to be used on computers that run Windows. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.
  • Scientists double the capacity of rechargeable batteries - New research results presented today could bring companies such as Intel much closer to that goal of offering notebooks that achieve a battery running time of 8 hours and more....and the explosive power of a small nuke... :P Do you remember Terminator 3 movie? :-)
  • Machine Gives Full Night's Sleep In 3 Hours - Side effects may include: nightmares about Cthulhu rising from R'lyeh, slaughtering your entire family, diarrhea, and a desire to escape from behind the wall of sleep. Ahh just kidding :-D But who knows? ...Anyway, more details can be found here.
  • Life without google - Could you do it?
  • Who are you? New music composition site gives you your own theme song  - In theory, any person will be able to create a musical theme based on a voice recording, an image, and a clapped rhythm. If you're wondering exactly how providing these elements equates to a musical theme, you're not alone, but information on how the Lifehouse Method works is currently limited. What we do know is that the rhythms and sounds selected or created by the user are not directly utilized to create music. Instead, Method analyzes each input, and uses this analysis to create the musical selection.
  • Conan Visits Intel - cool video - They should show this video every time they do college recruiting over at universities and see how many applications they get ;)
  • Shakira - Las De La Intuicion (video clip) - Shakira looks sexy and I especially liked the scenes when she was with the dancers, also with the purple wigs, doing those mini choreographies :-D
  • Dani Lopes, absolutely amazing sexy babe (NSFW) - Check out this modeling sensation from South America.
  • Aguilera..braless ...Wow!

El_Coyote> i believe its a play of words on "The King is dead, long live the King"

Exactly

In my opinion, Gmail pwns Windows Live anyday. Gmail loads quicker and has better funtionality and runs smoothly and it also has built in googletalk, the layout is clean and simple and enjoyable to use, with Live it seems laggy and theres not much funky AJAX in it and its just meh

Well I have my own personal e-mail and personally I couldn't care less about gmail or hotmail. I rarely ever use them but instead have them tied into my own personal email (outlook). Why go to web pages etc when you can use what's already installed on your PC? A hell of a lot more convenient for moving over e-mails. Hotmail or Live has the best spam filters imo compared to gmail... I rarely ever get spam on my Hotmail accounts. Wish I could say the same for Gmail...
