  • Intel Reveals 'Larrabee' Teraflop Processor - Intel's code-named Larrabee processor, which seems to be an array of computational arithmetic logic units (ALUs) with caches as well as memory controller, will be capable of processing 'well in excess' of a teraflop of data, according to Justin Rattner, Intel Corp.'s chief technology officer. The processor is set for release in 2010, but could show up in 2009, Mr. Rattner is quoted to have said.
  • ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, 2600 Pro, and 2400 XT tested - These cards are obviously not geared to hardcore gamers - the Radeon HD 2600 XT, performed about on par with or markedly behind a GeForce 8600 GT.
  • Mid-range 65nm GeForce 8 coming in November - The card will feature a new G92 graphics processor that will be based on 65nm process technology, just like the RV630 and RV610 GPUs in AMD's new Radeon HD 2600 and 2400 cards. The G92 will feature a 256-bit memory interface and will support the PCI Express 2.0 specification, which offers twice the bandwidth of first-generation PCIe. Performance of G92-based products will lie somewhere between that of the 8800 GTS and 8600 GTS.
  • Foobar + FofR = awesome audio player configuration -  It seems I'll have to give Foobar2000 a try again.

  • Fake Microsoft Security Bulletin Alert! - If you get an e-mail warning you about a Microsoft Outlook zero-day exploit just delete it. It is simply another phishing scam.
  • Vista Transformation Pack 7 -  WindowsX has released a brandnew version of the Vista Tranformation Pack for Windows XP. There are some nice new features like Vistart and the Vista Sidebar 2.0
  • How To Crash Windows Vista In 10 Seconds Or Less - Hold down the Windows key and the letter "E" for 10 seconds or so. After opening up Windows Explorer windows ad infinitum, your system will stop responding.
  • Torvalds attacks Microsoft: Show us the 235 Linux patent violations - Torvalds has a simple solution. Microsoft should put or shut up. Microsoft should list the patents it claims Linux violates, so that the open source community can either rewrite the offending code or test the legitimacy of Microsoft’s claims in court.
  • New PS3 buyers to get five free Blu-ray titles -The five movies will come from a list of 21 titles, including choices like Pearl Harbor, Black Rain, Underworld, and Transporter 2.

  • Jay Leno Gets A Sneak Peek At The All-New '08 Cadillac CTS (video) - The new 2008 Cadillac CTS will prove once and for all whether GM's luxury division can truly deliver on the promise of its radical "Art & Science" styling revolution and run wheel to wheel with the likes of Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz.
