  • AMD releases six-core Opteron processor - AMD claims these new processors will deliver up to 34% more performance per watt, and will be available beginning this month from leading OEMs including Cray, Dell, HP, IBM and Sun Microsystems. HE, SE and EE versions of the new processor are planned for the second half of 2009.
  • XFX GeForce 275 GTX 896MB DDR3 Core Edition GX 275X-AHFF - The card outperforms the Radeon HD 4890 in a number of the applications as well in a head to head comparison. The inclusion of Far Cry 2, adds to the value of the card as most video cards do not come with a game. If you buy the card from Newegg you also get a copy of Call of Duty World at War. Two games will give you plenty of play time in full DirectX 10.0 beauty as Far Cry 2 uses DX10.0 Pixel Shaders throughout the game. PhysX games will look and play like nothing else with the GeForce series as the cards from ATI do not support it.
  • Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II Tested - 10-colour A3+ printer that takes advantage of Canon's professional Lucia brand pigment-based inks (the cheaper PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II uses eight dye-based inks) and produces stunning printouts up to 13×19 inches on a variety of fine art papers and glossy media.
  • Microsoft Store reveals official Windows 7 box art - The final box art design for Windows 7 has shown up on the official Microsoft Store page which means it's pretty safe to say that this will be the final box art used for the upcoming operating system.
  • Leaked Best Buy memo reveals Windows 7 Upgrade pricing? - According to the leaked memo, Best Buy will offer customers to order a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for $49.99 and Windows 7 Professional Upgrade for $99.99. As far as I'm concerned this is going to give a huge break to today's consumers as they are tightening their pocket books in order to prevail through these tough economic times.
  • Android vs. Windows 7: What’s Better for your Netbook? - The beauty of Android is that it's easily modified. In the PC industry, differentiation is a key success factor. Without it, there's no way for the customer to decide between computers. That's why in the notebook space, the computer's design is so important. If Microsoft has its way, the same will be true in the netbook sector -- the OS will be the same in the vast majority of computers, requiring vendors to innovate on design.
  • Opera 10 Beta Available to Public - All Opera fans will be interested to hear that the beta client for Opera 10 is now available. Word is:" Opera 10 beta (codenamed Peregrine) sports a surprising array of new features, a fresh look and feel, and enhanced speed and performance. Discover a better way to enjoy the Web by trying Opera 10 beta. It is completely free for Windows, Mac and Linux systems."
  • Google Search: Less Intelligent vs More Intelligent - So, which category do your searches fall into? :P
  • MPAA Says Making 'One Copy' of a DVD is Illegal - If you make even one copy of a DVD, you should go to jail
  • SnowTigers Semi-Private BT Tracker Shutdown - One of the largest semi-private BitTorrent trackers in France, SnowTigers, was shut down in a joint operation with French police and ALPA (Association Against Audiovisual Piracy). The French military even assisted in locating the staff of the site so that they could be arrested as well.
  • Why free TV online is now better than HD cable - Finding a show is easy: Just Google it. All major shows that I'm aware of have a link to the streaming or downloadable HD version on the first results page. You can also find clips and shows on social bookmarking sites, TV sites like Hulu, and on YouTube. The picture and sound quality is amazing. It's not quite as good as HD programming via cable, but far better quality than analog TV or even DVDs.
  • Leo Laporte Blows up at Mike Arrington (video) - Leo Laporte calls out Mike Arrington of TechCrunch after Leo got mad that at him for implying that his opinion of the Pre was effected by the fact he had a free review unit. Wow! ;)
  • Project Natal for XBOX 360 (video) - Full-body motion control that doesn't require a controller of any kind called Project Natal. Forgive my excitement, but on first glance this thing looks amazing!
  • World of Warcraft: Ensidia Vs. Algalon the Observer (video)  -  Ensidia presents their World First Algalon the Observer kill on 25 man. Algalon is only accessible once you defeat the four watchers on hard mode, additionally you are only allowed one hour per reset to defeat him. Congrants! :-)
  • Sony plans to offer digital copy program for UMD holders - Since their upcoming PSP Go console will ship without a UMD drive, Sony plans to offer a digital copy program for PSP users with a large UMD collection who would like to purchase the PSP Go. Sony's John Koller confirmed that the program would be free, and would last for years. The system Sony plans to offer won't rip your UMD discs however, instead it sounds like Sony will offer the feature as an online service that users will have to sign up for.

  • Fresque Finale (video) - check it out
