NVIDIA released GeForce Security Update Driver 582.78 on September 30, 2026, for older Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta cards that no longer get Game Ready drivers.
The WHQL package is for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11. It is a security-only update, and NVIDIA says it addresses issues that may lead to security impacts. It does not add new game optimizations.
Desktop support covers the Maxwell GTX 745, 750, and 750 Ti, the GTX 950 through 980 Ti, and Pascal cards from the GTX 1050 to the 1080 Ti, plus the GT 1030 and GT 1010. Selected TITAN cards and matching laptop GTX 900M, GTX 10, and MX chips are included too.
Most GTX 700 cards are not in this package. Kepler models such as the GTX 760, 770, and 780 sit outside it.
NVIDIA ended regular Game Ready support for these architectures in October 2025 and still plans critical security updates through October 2028. The release notes point to the September security bulletin, but the Linux vGPU issue CVE-2026-47574 is not a bug in this Windows consumer driver. |
