• Arabic Trojan butts into porn surfing  - Security experts today issued a warning after detecting a malicious Trojan horse which tries to interrupt the surfing of adult websites by displaying messages from the Koran. The Yusufali-A Trojan monitors users' surfing habits by examining the title bar of the active window. If the Trojan finds a key word such as 'teen', 'xx', 'sex' or 'penis', it minimises the window so that the user cannot see its content and displays a message from the Koran instead.
• New technology may increase ID theft, scientist says - Identity cards and chip and pin technology for credit cards will force fraudsters to be more creative and are unlikely to alleviate the problem.
• OpenSSH Two Security Issues - Two security issues have been reported in OpenSSH, which can be exploited malicious users to gain escalated privileges or bypass certain security restrictions.

• Europe is not ready for HD TV - So why has HDTV been so long in taking off in Europe? Thomas Wrede, VP of product management for SES Astra, speaking at the HDTV DisplayForum in Berlin argues that consumers need confidence that new HDTV devices can really display high defiition pictures and are fully interoperable. This was far from clear two years ago, when existing HDTV in Europe via satellite had a vast difference in quality on some of the displays, with apparently HD ready devices only having around 576p resolution or below.
• Kazaa hit by file-sharing ruling - An Australian court has ruled that the popular file-swapping program Kazaa urged its users to breach copyright. The Federal Court ordered Kazaa's owners, Sharman Networks, to modify the software to prevent further piracy.

• Microsoft and Google: Anything you can do...- UK newspaper The Times has reported that Microsoft has bought Teleo, a provider of Internet telephony software and services. Microsoft plans to 'incorporate and expand' on Teleo products, linking them into the software behind its MSN portal. Microsoft could now add 'click-to-call' features to Outlook or Internet Explorer, its Internet browser, so users can call online contacts.
• Skype gets first mobile users - Skype has signed its first ever deal with a mobile phone company in a move that integrates VoIP calls with a traditional cellular mobile phone service.
• Mini-projector Prototype Developed - Epson has announced that it has succeeded in developing a prototype postcard-sized mini-projector using an LED light source. With a footprint of 13.8 by 10.3 centimeters, the 500-gram prototype can fit into the palm of a hand.

• Forceware "bug-fix" driver 78.03 perfomance- The driver has two specific fixes, one for texture filtering issues in High Quality mode and one for their profiles system where global profile settings had to be used instead of per-executable fixes. The difference in performance is less than 5% in High Quality mode at 1600x1200, with a performance drop similar at the other two resolutions. The difference in real-world gameplay, tested using a couple of titles including Half-Life 2, is undetectable. The image quality difference in HQ mode is like night and day, however.
