It is with great frustration and anger that we announce that until further notice, Gaming Open Market will be closing its doors to all game currency trading except Second Life. Over the weekend, we had over $3000.00 USD worth of fraud perpetrated against us. The thief emailed us and explained that the goods he stole will be kept as "payment" for the lesson he taught us. PayPal's dated policy on the sale of "intangible goods" is well-known, and yet they refuse to to accept any responsibility for the fraud that this policy actually encourages. Why will Second Life remain? Linden Lab, the publishers of Second Life, have been extremely helpful dealing with prior incidents of fraud. They take a very strong stance against crime and have made it clear that they value the services we provide. We wish the same could be said of other game publishers. We are truly sorry. We have over 800 active traders, nearly half of which will be looking for a new venue. We hope that something good comes of this, and that we are able to re-establish our markets and to continue to provide you with the first true foreign exchange for MMOGs. Until then, trade safe.
