- Intel To Overhaul PC With "Grantsdale" Chipset -
Grantsdale will likely be Intel's most significant chipset revision in
almost a decade, hearkening back to chipsets like the Opti 4165 and Intel
Saturn, which helped usher in the PCI bus in 1995; and the Intel 440LX,
Intel's first AGP-enabled chipset, which launched in 1997. Meanwhile, Intel's
OEMs have asked the company for its "Granite Peak" initiative, which limits
the number of driver revisions to one every six months, making the launch of
each new chipset even more significant. According to a confidential
Intel roadmap obtained by ExtremeTech, the Grantsdale chipset will support the
LGA 775 socket used by the Tejas processor. More importantly, the chipset will
also serve as a transition between the Tejas and Prescott processors,
supporting both. The chipset will support both a 533-MHz and 800-MHz
front-side bus, although Prescott's 800-MHz bus will be approximately six to
nine months old at the time.

- Samsung Syncmaster 191n 19" TFT LCD Monitor Review -
The unit sports some relatively decent specs, 25ms response which seems to
be the norm these days. We see a 500:1 contrast ratio and a brightness level
of 250cd/m2. The contrast ratio seems to be the only real change between the
171n and the 191n in terms of screen performance. With that said, the only
real difference between the two is the larger screen area, a better contrast
ratio, and a few additional features which we will discuss next.
