- Pacific Fighters movie - Ubi Soft sends along

first movie trailer for Pacific Fighters, showing the upcoming World War

- Final Xpand Rally Trailer - Techland has today published
the
official/final trailer for its upcoming rally racer. This 1'40" long wmv
file shows some of the most important
Xpand Rally features:
variety of tracks and cars, dynamic daytime and weather changes, amazing

- Railroad Tycoon 3 Patch - Take 2 has released
a new patch for Railroad Tycoon 3, the hit railroad management sim. This
1.05 patch fixes a multiplayer crash bug, a slow train bug, and more.

- Chaos League English Manual -
This manual addition will help newcomers and veterans of Chaos League to

Chaos League to make sure that the information provided is accurate.
- NBA Live 2005 goes gold - Until yesterday, it looked like EA
Sports' and ESPN's basketball games were set for a head-to-head clash on
October 5. But today, EA made a surprise fast break, and announced that
its NBA Live 2005 has gone gold and will ship on September 28--one week
before ESPN NBA 2K5. The new date only applies for the GameCube, Xbox, and
PlayStation 2 versions of the E-rated game--the PC version is still due out
October 12.
- Deer Hunter 2005 Ships - Atari has announced
the
newest addition to the popular Deer Hunter franchise has shipped to retail
stores nationwide today. Deer Hunter 2005 represents the most robust hunting
experience for the series to date with stunning new graphics, exotic new
locations, realistic animal behavior and multi-player gameplay.
- The Adventure Company Ships Dark Fall 2 - The Adventure
Company today announced that
Dark Fall 2, a
sequel to the adventure thriller Dark Fall: The Journal, has shipped for
Windows starting with United Kingdom and will be followed by the rest of
Europe in the next month.
- Take 2 Bid for Juiced -
Take 2 have made a bid
for all versions of Juiced. They will pay $8.125 million for rights for
all three versions and up to $1.875 in royalties, should the game sell well.
Fund4Games, which funded the development of the title for Juice Games and
Acclaim, will receive $4.5 million. The rest will go to Acclaim’s primary
creditor, GMAC, who is still owed around $23 million from Acclaim. The 30th
Spetember is the last day for Take 2 to retract thier bid, or for another
publisher to outbid them. Nothing is certain at this point, there is still 1
week to go before we’ll find out exactly who has picked up the game. Take 2
also announced that the game must be in stores by October 5th, to "achieve

- Dreamcatcher to publish COPS 2170: The Power of Law - Game Factory
Interactive and Dream Catcher have signed a contract on publishing of
COPS
2170: The Power of Law from MiST land - South development studio. Since
now Dream Catcher Company becomes a pan-european publisher of COPS 2170: The
Power of Law
- Pacific Fighters Multiplayer Details (PC) - Ubisoft sent out a note
that its upcoming flight sim combat
Pacific Fighters will launch with a multiplayer mode that will allow up to 128
players to participate in live online aerial dogfights. In addition,
cooperative play and dynamic online campaigns are also available for up to 32
players. Pacific Fighters is a flight combat title that takes place in the
pacific theatre during World War II. Players take control of more than 40
different aircraft on both sides of the battle lines. The 16 maps in the game
include Guadalcanal, Pearl Harbor and Singapore. Pacific Fighters ships for
the PC in November 2004.
- Ostrich Runner and "motion detection" - Geleos and game development
team Gaijin Entertainment
have announced the beginning of combined work on a new version of Ostrich
Runner, the cell-shading arcade racing of
crazy ostriches, in
which "motion
detection" technology will be used. Motion detection technology allows
playing with the help of a web-cam. With it one can test new feel of a game,
and look at the game process from an absolutely different side.
- EA confirms Need for Speed, Tiger Woods for PSP launch - The
company announced that
two games from its flagship franchises--Tiger Woods PGA Tour and Need for
Speed Underground--will launch alongside the PSP. The games will
simultaneously go on sale with Sony's portable later this year in Japan, and
next spring in North America.
- Sony drops online from Gran Turismo 4, hits Christmas release -
Polyphony Digital's long-awaited PS2 racing title Gran Turismo 4 is on track
to meet worldwide release dates
in early December - but at the cost of online play, which has been removed
from the game.
- Downloadable SOCOM II Maps in PSM - According to
1UP.com, some new maps will
be available on the demo disc of the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine
starting with the December issue,

GameStop and
EBGames are now listing the contents of the Half-Life 2 Collector's
Edition (or is it Special Edition?), listed at $79.99. Here's how it looks:

- DOOMed Tunes: UAC Mix - Jeremy dropped
a line with word of a
DOOM 3 song he's written that is comprised only, well almost only, of sounds
taken from the game of Doom 3. Out of the 40+ tracks used, only 3 are not from
Doom 3 itself, namely the bass line, front synth piece, and one drum track.
All the other sounds are directly from the game and are either used stock or

- TLC Industries Brings Orbz to Indie Games Con -
LC Industries sent us a
press release announcing that they will demonstrate Orbz, one of four
launch titles for
FlexArcade, at
Indie Games Con.
- Dennis the DeathKnight, the Movie - part 2 - Graham Plowman (a.k.a.
"Plowking" on the Larian Forum) has just released the second part of his
"Dennis the Deathknight" movie. Based on Larian’s RPG "Beyond Divinity", this
animation film features a Deathknight rolling "Sexual Harassment", a hero
threatening an imp, and a loss-fer-words antagonist.

- More DOOM movie casting news -
British actress Rosamund Pike has signed on to star in Universal Pictures'
upcoming video game adaptation "Doom." Pike will play Samantha, a scientist,
opposite Karl Urban, who will play John Grimm, the leader of a special ops
team at the center of the action-adventure pic. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is
also set to take a leading role. Polish helmer Andrzej Bartkowiak will direct
the feature, which has had a long development history.
- Developers predict what types of video games we'll be playing in 20
years -Holographic projectors. Spinal input ports. Head mounted 3D
displays. If the predictions of certain developers come true, the video game
machines of 2025 are going to be remarkably different than what we use today.
