Fortnite Overhauls Zero Build with "Pocket Items" Slot - patch

Fortnite is introducing a major experiment to Zero Build mode, replacing the build button with a new "Pocket Items" utility slot that offers unlimited use on cooldowns.
Players will now start matches with a Pistol, Shield, and one Pocket Item like Shockwaves, Med Mist, or Shield Bubble, which can be swapped at vending machines.
Other big changes include glider redeploy returning, non-lethal fall damage, unlimited pickaxe stamina, stronger environmental cover, improved smoke grenades, and faster reboot times.
The update launches tomorrow as a test for the rest of Season 2, with rebalanced defensive loot and new Brick-a-Bunkers.
Epic wants player feedback to shape Season 3 and beyond.
