- U.S. Military Uses the Force - One of the most dangerous and
pervasive threats facing American and British troops in combat zones is a
primitive grenade launcher that only sets your typical terrorist back about
$10. The Anglo-American defense against this no-tech threat: an electrical
force field that's costing hundreds of millions of dollars to develop.
The electrical armor system, powered by the vehicle's regular supply of
electricity, stops the jets by zapping them with tens of thousands of amps of
current. This vaporizes some of the deadly copper jets and reduces the rest to
a relatively harmless mixture of melted and pulverized debris that disperses
around the vehicle.

- Windows Media Player 9 on Win 2000 - Here's a simple trick that
your visitors may need to install the latest wmp9 (build 2848) on Win2k:
rename the .exe to .zip, then unzip it in a new directory and run
"setup_wm.exe" to launch the installation. This will bypass the message "This
version of Windows Media Player can be installed only on Windows XP and
Windows .NET Server." that you get on a Win2000 box. (thanks

- Nvidia Detonator Drivers 31.00 Win2K / XP -

drivers revision 31.00. The drivers originate from a nForce driver package
and the .inf file (windows information file) only supported the nForce chipset
based graphics cards. The nForce drivers where fully WHQL certified,
unfortunately as they had to alter the .inf file they are no longer that. They
have fixed/modified the .inf file and now the driver is compatible with all
NVIDIA videocards. The drivers are dated 30/7/2002. The drivers have been
tested and work peachy.
