- VisionTek is shutting its doors? - While

was going well for this U.S. based company from Northern Illinois. We have
come to find out this weekend that all is far from well at one of our fave
VidCard builders. It seems as though VisionTek is in utter financial shambles
and a
trustee has been appointed to come in and liquidate all the assets of the
company.
- Wiebetech 40GB MicroGB Hard Drive Review -
Wiebetech seems to be gaining momentum within the industry and seem to be
shooting big, based on what we have seen in there white paper documentation
and on there site they seem to have the combination down pat, Good
performance, Competitively priced, and versatile. We have seen two of these
proven to be true, Price and Versatility, but we need a little more proof
before we can say it has the great performance we hope to see.

- Creative Extigy Review -
The small plastic black box (8"w, 7.75"d, 1.75"h) has been designed to sit
near flush on most tower cases but is also supplied with two brackets for
upright mounting. It is rather lighter than expected. The front houses optical
in and out sockets for data transmission to audio equipment such as Minidisk,
a line in, a microphone in (wrong size should be a full size jack), headphones
with balance control, master control, a quick CMSS button (this gives wrap
around 5.1 sound from conventional two channels), a standby button and four
LED's indicating power on, remote control receive, using digital and CMSS
enabled

- Installing Windows XP - Step by Step - Like Windows 2000, XP makes
extensive use of the Microsoft ACPI (Advanced Configuration & Power
Interface), which relies heavily on your system BIOS (Basic Input / Output
System). Many slightly older systems may not be set up to take advantage of
ACPI functionality, so it's worth checking with your motherboard and/or
peripheral vendor to see if an ACPI compliant BIOS upgrade exists for your
hardware.
