Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Dovetail Games Fishing will let players "tackle every step in the fishing experience" by choosing their equipment and rigs before preparing their gear at their preferred location. Fishing itself, meanwhile, makes use of Dovetail's 'Total Cast Control' system, an "intuitive new casting and reeling mechanism" that lets players find, attract, catch and land their fish. Fishing will initially be based around catching carp, but will "quickly expand" to bass and fly-fishing. VR support is also being considered to help create "the ultimate fishing simulator", which the developer hopes will spread "into the e-sports arena".
