Bungie to restore vaulted Destiny 2 content, evolve Marathon - interview

Bungie is beginning work to bring vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations, and raids back into the game for all players. Studio head Poria Torkan said the company chased new visions without focusing enough on what players loved, and that trust must be earned. Head of product Josh Deane said those campaigns, destinations, and raids never should have been ripped away.
The studio warned this is not a simple file restore. Destiny 2 has changed since Beyond Light, so lighting, encounters, combatants, and other systems must be updated first. More details on the unvaulting plan will come in the months ahead. Bungie also said Destiny is foundational to its future and that it is not done with the series.
Marathon did not reach as many players as hoped and will evolve beyond its original genre into a deeper survival experience with co-op PvE, competitive PvP, and PvPvE, while the October Nightfall Refresh and December Symbiosis update stay on the calendar.
