Apple today announced a new MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR display, marking the first time a Mac has a touchscreen. The 14-inch model starts at $2,899 and the 16-inch starts at $3,399, with both available to pre-order now and shipping on November 6.

The display uses tandem OLED technology and reaches up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness with a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It also brings back the glowing Apple logo on the lid and includes a Dynamic Island for Live Activities and other controls.

The laptops run on M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, offer up to 24 hours of battery life, and are lighter than previous models. Apple says the touch input is built directly into the display panel for low latency and responsive gestures.
