$400 GTA 6 Box Skips the Game! - briefly

Rockstar Games has opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a $399.99 collector box.

The official store listing states that Grand Theft Auto VI is sold separately.

The set is themed around Macca the Gator, a TV show from the game’s state of Leonida, and includes 11 items such as Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a New Era snapback, a Macca figure, a Leonida map poster, a crossbody bag, pins, and a shot glass.

The box is due on November 19, 2026, the same day GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Players who want the game still need the Standard or Ultimate edition on their own.

Pre-orders are live on the Rockstar Games Store while supplies last.

The biggest joke (and pain) of this news is that for $399.99 they're selling you merch (a Mackey alligator figurine, Oakley sunglasses, a New Era cap, a souvenir spoon, and other little things), but they don't include the game itself!

That means you still have to shell out for Grand Theft Auto VI—either the standard or the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar's marketers have clearly reached a new level of upselling. For four hundred bucks, getting a 25-pound box with a figurine and a magnetic mirror, but without a disc or even a game keythat's certainly a bit much. Collectors will surely snap it up, but the "buy the merch bundle and then buy the game yourself" meme is already making the rounds online.
