Despite its new reincarnation,
Hyper-Threading
is still as controversial as in times of NetBurst. This technology
yields zero performance gains according to our overall score (rounded), even
though some tests demonstrate significant performance gains or drops.
- Nvidia GT218 Card & Specs Surfaced -
GT218 is the
first 40nm based GPU from Nvidia and there are at least 4 SKUs on different

- Seagate announces 2TB enterprise hard drive -
The new
Constellation 2.5-in. and Constellation ES 3.5-in. drives come in Serial
Attached SCSI 6Gbit/sec. or Serial ATA 3Gbit/sec. models and include a
feature that allows them to shut down when not in use to save power.
- Eee PC 1000HE available for pre-order - According to Asus,
the Eee PC
1000HE features a new Atom N280 processor that runs at 1.66GHz with a
667MHz front-side bus-faster than the 1.6GHz Atom N270 (with its 533MHz FSB)
that powers most other netbooks. FYI, you can save $25 by
pre-ordering.

- Microsoft reveals Windows 7 editions - Microsoft doesn't plan to
put many marketing dollars behind Windows 7 Ultimate, and the edition will
be available "via occasional promotions and offers from both PC makers and
retailers." That leaves only two
retail editions folks should really worry about: Home Premium and
Professional. Having only two major retail editions essentially brings
Microsoft back to the Windows XP days....good
- Microsoft to offer XP-to-Windows 7 upgrades - Microsoft confirmed
Tuesday that it
will sell upgrades for Windows 7 to users running the Windows XP
operating system. Those users, however will have to do a "clean"
installation of Windows 7, meaning that all data on the machine will be
lost.

- Google Earth 5.0 Released -
There are new
features that allow you to explore the ocean and ocean floors as well as
view historical imagery from around the globe
- Google launches software to track mobile users -
Users in 27 countries will be able to broadcast their location to others
constantly, using Google Latitude. Controls allow users to select who
receives the information or to go offline at any time, Google said on its
Web site.
- Skype 4.0 for Windows is released - Indeed, with this release,
Skype has turned itself
from a VoIP and instant messaging service into nothing less than a real soft
video phone. In Skype 4.0 for Windows, we decided to focus on three
objectives: great call quality, better video calling and ease of us," Said
Mike Bartlett, Skype's Director of Windows Product Management. The major
differences between prior betas and the Gold version appear to all be
performance- and ease of use-related improvements.
- Ghost Camera app for iPhone will surely freak out your friends -
Appliya a developer from Japan has released the
Ghost Camera an
app that allows you to take a picture and then insert a bunch of
different versions of a Sadako-type ghost into them. So you can create
haunted photos. Reminds me of the movie 'Shutter'. There is a free version
also available 'Ghost Camera lite' for you try but it is limited to two
ghosts only.

years after Professor Rubik painted the Lament Configuration rainbow and
decided to sell it to children in his native Hungary, everyone's loved the

- SMART adds 'touch recognition' to SMART Boards -
SMART's new
Touch Recognition feature allows the SMART Board to recognize your touch
and switch modes automatically. You can write with a pen, erase with the
palm and move objects around with your finger without having to access other
tools, buttons or on-screen menus

The most
advanced pool table in the world, the G-1 features a glass and resin
playing structure and striking modern design. The patented transparent

- Ford's EV project - the first details - Ford announced that a
production vehicle based on the design would make it to market by ~2011
after a second prototype was built using similar technology. Range from the
lithium-ion battery pack
will be limited
to around 100 miles, depending on how and where the car is driven.

- Brand New French Dragonball Evolution Trailer -
Dragonball
Evolution is directed by James Wong, of Final Destination, Jet Li's The
One, and Final Destination 3 previously, with a script written by Ben
Ramsey, of The Big Hit and Love and a Bullet previously. The film stars
Justin Chatwin as Goku, James Marsters as Piccolo, Emmy Rossum as Bulma,
Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi, Jamie Chung as Chi Chi, and Park Joon as
Yamcha. 20th Century Fox is releasing Dragonball Evolution in theaters
everywhere on April 3rd, 2009
