"It's time for us to talk about gaming on Windows," says Microsoft
Microsoft says its about time for them to talk about gaming on Windows. Its 2014. Given their focus on consoles for the last decade, woop-de-freeking-doo. They should just sit down and shut-up. |

Start talking in 2015?
That's a train you'll have missed.
Talking should have been done in 2013.
Linux gaming is picking up and Linux contains far less intrusive crap than Windows.

That was not a step. That was merely a touch.
Ever put water in a teaspoon heated until it's red? The water won't boil.

Don't follow. Console gaming is not PC gaming. Anyway.
Quotes from MS re PC gaming... there's more but I don't feel like drilling into google. They been saying they support PC gaming for years.. everyone knows, they're just full of shit trying to drive more Windows cd sales.
2011, Microsoft assured us in PC Magazine and PC gaming isn't dead.
2013
“I think it’s fair to say that we’ve lost our way a bit in supporting Windows games,” says Microsoft Studios VP Phil Spencer in an interview with Shacknews. “But we’re back.”
2014
“Now we’re one [unified] Microsoft. I don’t see this as pressure. I see it as an opportunity. We have more support internally to support PC more. That’s great! My only expectation would be, please let us continue to do that over a five-year period so we can have real impact. That’s how it feels right now. We’re getting very strong support internally. So we’re really going after PC.” |

I was being sarcastic, Tom. Of course they don't give a f*ck. To be honest, I don't see what can they do anyway. Windows is a platform and that's it.
They will be releasing DirectX 12 soon and that's that. I think that's the only thing that they can do for gaming. It's the "thing" that keeps them, game devs and HW manufacturers cooperating. |

So, yeah. |
