I think Quake and Doom left the studio many years ago for anyone to care what Id Software does these days Very Happy

Yeah, id is pretty much disintegrating the way Microprose did. I'll always remember my first 30 seconds of playing Doom shareware though. That was one of those rare "wow" moments in life.

Yeah, I remember, too.
But in order to get that "wow", you had to play a lot of crappy games before - otherwise you could not have appreciated what they delivered.
I did not have that "wow" very often afterwards - maybe 7-10 times in total.
