Toshiba that promises to deliver 3D PC gaming without
glasses. The laptop has two parallax 3D LCDs and also has a webcam that
can, in theory, keep track of your eyeline when you move.
It\'s no secret that Toshiba\'s got a

That's one of the serious issues with no-3D glasses required screens. They fuck up unless your directly in front of them! The early full sized <cough 20"> screens mean you must be about 3ft away and if you tilt your head or sit off centre -like the rest of the world views a social 3D TV, it doesn't work.
I've just bought a panasonic VT20 plasma 600Hz that is 3D and converts ordinary 2D (TV channels, Blu-Ray disc etc) to 3D very well considering it's a freebie feature.
As for 3D gaming it just explodes enjoyment! Because there's no flicker -600Hz and plasma- it's sooo fucking real!!!! 60fps to each eye in 1920x1080P
I tried a 55" 3,000 200Hz LCD and i could see nothing but flicker on any 3D. Turns out i'm sensitive to the refresh rate But not on Plasma and boy what a picture you get with it too.
Boy am i glad i don't smoke, that's the stuff you can buy with money saved |

Stumpus, I picked up the g10 last year. And I got to say I was really happy with it. No more motion blur, and no stupid soap opera looking everything. Though my dad just picked up the samsung un65c8000, and it has a setting for the motion blur for "clear" instead of "smooth" and it looks really good. Not soap opera-ish at all. I am considering picking one up at some point since I love Samsung, but what I am not happy with is learning that my g10's black levels go up very quickly. Cnet found out about this, and Panasonic's reasoning is that it works to their spec. And that if you want one that goes up slower, buy the new vt20. Pretty shitty if you ask me. But I didn't pay the 1600$ for my g10. I got it open boxed with no stand, for 900$. So I'm not as mad as I would be otherwise.
As for 3d, it has to get perfect (with no glasses) before I care about it. |
