On the official Battlefield 2 website you can find

the latest community update regarding an upcoming hot-fix for BF2 1.01, as many users experienced problems with the patch. EA suggest users reinstall the game and not the 1.01 patch. (thanks

Funny, really never had a problem with the game before. Leave it up to a patch to mess the whole game up! Good testing EA. lol. Gee, just missed a huge memory leak... nothing much...
