Yeah, id is pretty much disintegrating the way Microprose did. I'll always remember my first 30 seconds of playing Doom shareware though. That was one of those rare "wow" moments in life. |

Yeah, I remember, too.
But in order to get that "wow", you had to play a lot of crappy games before - otherwise you could not have appreciated what they delivered.
I did not have that "wow" very often afterwards - maybe 7-10 times in total. |
