Trying to throw a bone by providing a patch, huh?
Too bad that a patch's just a patch, not a part of the OS...
How about you listen to customers (and by that, I mean actual Windows users, not 3rd parties) for Windows 9 instead of your dum-dum employees?

What kind of a prediction is that??? Anything can happen in a 1000 years.
But, I can't help thinking that the universe might be better off without us. |

You are obviously a liberal. Everything they/you do is destructive to the planet and all life on it, especially Humans.
Planets are a dime a dozen, but intelligent life may be rare. Our Sun will go nova and the Earth will be gone forever without a trace, but humans can leave this planet and continue to live and take other plant and animal life with us.
Hawking is simply letting us know of the obvious, that sooner or later there is going to be another ice-age or impact that will wipe us out.
If you want to put your head in the sand, fine, but don't take the rest of us with you. And if you hate yourself so much, then I recommend doing yourself and everyone else a favor and commit suicide. |

I said I am thinking it. Maybe I watched too many sci-fi movies lately. Maybe it's things like this. But call me what you like. I don't even know what 'liberal' means - I always steer clear of politics as I hate it.
We did not need Hawking for that. I thought he would be telling us the 'how' by now. Where are those wormholes that take us to our future? |

I agree. I like Hawking and all, and he's supposed to be super smart, which he is, but sometimes he pops off on some strange tangents talking about some very simple stuff, like us having 1K years, or talking about aliens and such.
It is a true miracle he's still alive. He was supposed to die long ago, but I sometimes wonder if he is loosing his mind. |

It's nice people are thinking of the long game. Personally I don't go further than my children or grandchildren if at all. Hell I'll be fuckin' dead. |

How can you be be sure? In a 1000 years they might prove that you just go another dimension and open a wormhole so you could buy your way back (a different kind of human traffic) - I see no reason why though: everyone else you know will be in that other dimension as well... |

Another dimension or dead won't change that fact. Dimension or whatever you fancy doesn't mean you'll think or act the same way you do in this one. Mindless ball of energy or something not human is what you would be . |

Says you now. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to sell their bodies today - you could use those as hosts for your visits. |
