UWP is new to Windows 10. It supersedes Windows Runtime and extends it to include desktop applications.

So Gabe Newell was right after all - the Windows PC lock down has begun. This will be fun to watch.

And BTW my 7870 (which I bought second hand!) works just fine medium to high settings! Though my monitor is only 1680x1050.
