Internal Xbox 720 memo outs 2013 release, Kinect V2 - console
(hx) 04:20 AM EDT - Jun,18 2012
A 56-page memo that is purported to be an internal memo detailing their plans for the next Xbox has surfaced on Scribd. The document is pretty consistent with previous reports about what the Xbox 720 will contain. There's just one problem, the document continuously refers to the system as the "Xbox 720," which Microsoft executives have gone out of their way to avoid using.
- The Xbox 720 will launch in 2013 at $299. The system itself will be "six times" more powerful than the current Xbox 360 and include a Blu-ray drive, native 3D support, a built-in DVR, and hardware-based backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games.
- The system will also be bundled with a more advanced version of the Kinect sensor (Kinect V2).
-The console will also feature tablet-enhanced gaming, which echoes their E3 announcement of Xbox SmartGlass.
- "Fortaleza" augmented reality glasses will be available in 2014.
- And Cloud-based gaming on "any screen" will be available in 2015.
It's not necessarily fake. Some of this might even be true :-)

Seems to have been removed. Any mirrors of this?

Price is most certainly fake for a start. Since when can you predict a market based on components nearly a year from now? It may cost M$ 299, but the punter won't be paying that! Factor in wages a year from now, assembly, fuel etc.
Just hate speculation, it's as bad as games. Pumping up hype to suck the sad gits in, a tweek here and there and everyone has forgotten what, originally was said. Just as long as you garner interest, I suppose.

Even at $300 that's not so cheap. You still have to pay for controllers and xbox live. There might be some other stuff on the side too who knows. Price wise you're really paying up around $500 after you get the controllers plus include the cost of xbox live.

I think Xbox "720" is a super fucking lame name.

psolord(01:16 PM EDT - Jun,19 2012 )
Agreed. XBOX 720 is a silly name. It has an abstract reference to the 720P resolution although you can't really say the same for XBOX 360, because there's no real 360P resolution.

If there's absolutely has to be a number into it, better call it XBOX 1080. It will seem much more advanced plus it will have a direct reference to the mainstream 1080P resolution.

Just call the sucker XBOX Next or something and be done with it.
