Why would we buy Battlefield 2142? - briefly
(hx) 05:32 PM CEST - Sep,02 2006 - Post a comment
The chaps over at NGOHQ.com bring up a the great point that if Battlefield 2 is still buggy, why in the hell would we invest more money on another game when the first one isn't even near being fixed yet? Here's a taster:
On the 23rd of May, (3 months ago) Digital Illusions and EA released Battlefield 2 v1.3 patch. With the new patch, a serious server and client stability issue was exposed. Suddenly, both clients and servers started to crash randomly. The developer immediately confirmed the issues and claimed that they started working on a workaround patch to solve these issues. At the beginning of July, (one month after the original patch) the developer released a beta patch that solves the stability issues. But, since this is a beta release, the player will no longer be able to play on the official v1.3 servers, and on a very limited amount of beta v1.4 servers.

Digital Illusions has announced that it will release the final v1.4 patch on the 15th of August (two months and half after the original patch) but suddenly, instead of releasing this patch - or at least some kind of hotfix to resolve the crashing issues - they decided to delay it. Just for the record, they already fixed that issue in the beta, and they didn’t release a hotfix to resolve that critical issue. They decided to keep the product broken and to delay the patch instead of giving us some small patch to solve it.

The hours became days, the days became weeks, the weeks became months, and here we are at September - three months after they released the problematic v1.3 patch - and still without an official fix to these stability issues.

How To Hex Edit: An Example - This topic is designed as an example of how to hex edit (modify) a file. It is intended for those who are not familiar with binary file editing and would like to make a specific change in a binary file. An example of where this technique would apply is in game cheats. To implement a game cheat, users are typically instructed to make a change in a saved game file in order to get loads of extra cash or a super weapon. (2250 hits)
Watch_Dogs - Watch Dogs is an open world action-adventure video game in which players control an Irish-American vigilante named Aiden Pearce (voiced by Noam Jenkins), who can hack into various electronic devices tied to the city's central operating system (CtOS), allowing various methods for the player to solve numerous objectives. Examples include hacking into people's phones to retrieve bank data and steal funds, triggering malfunctions in equipment to distract other characters and hacking into traffic lights to cause collisions. Players can also receive information on civilians via augmented reality feeds, providing the player with information on demographics, health, and potential behavior. Objectives showcased in presentations include finding specific targets to kill, evading the police and following potential victims in order to stop their would-be killers. Combat utilizes a combination of stealth components and parkour, along with the mechanics of a cover-based third-person shooter. (530 hits)
ystem Shock – System Shock is reborn - To ensure this reboot is as true to the original as possible, we’ve been collaborating with the original developers of System Shock 1.  Understanding what they would do differently and keep the same has helped us to refresh a classic in ways Looking Glass Studios would have. Happy Juice Games: Lost in Play - Lost in Play is an outstanding puzzle adventure game that can be played by everyone. The art design is fantastic, the puzzles are varied while offering a bit of a challenge, and it is just a wholesome story of two kids using their imaginations to create a world to have an adventure in. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something light hearted, whether you're playing alone or with family. (117 hits)

By bypassing hardware checks such as TPM, Secure Boot, CPU generation, and RAM requirements, it enables installation on devices that would otherwise be blocked as unsupported. Designed for simplicity and efficiency, Flyby11 provides a minimal yet effective solution for enthusiasts, IT admins, and power users who want to deploy Windows 11 seamlessly across a wider range of systems.
