call me desperate gamer pls<grin>), but I'm playing Warzone 2100. FYI, they
promised to release a new version, 3.1.2 before the end of the year!

lead to a freeze. Ubisoft made a post on the Far Cry 4 forums notes that a hotfix is

- Alienware Alpha review - The Alpha is a compact living room gaming PC
that’s compelling for a number of reasons. At $550 for the
entry-level model, the system is priced competitively against the
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Both consoles do cost $150 less, but the
Alpha is a more powerful console that suits the gamer wanting better
graphics, frame rates, and resolutions on a more consistent basis. On
top of this, you get the advantages of gaming on a PC, such as a
massive game library, cheaper games and the excellent modding community.
- Samsung smart TVs will play Playstation games starting next
year -
Samsung has joined forces with Sony to bring the Playstation Now
service to a select range of its smart TVs in the first half of the
next year, allowing you to enjoy PlayStation games without the need of
an actual PlayStation gaming console, although you'll need to purchase
a Sony Dualshock controller. PlayStation Now on Samsung TVs will be
available as an app that can be accessed through the company's Smart
Hub, and will support all functionality, including the ability to earn
in-game trophies, play games online with friends, and save your game
progress in the cloud. For the uninitiated, Playstation Now is a gaming
streaming service of PlayStation 3 titles to devices such as
PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Bravia TVs. At
present, the service is in beta, and offers about 200 PS3 titles,
although Sony plans to offer PS2 and PS4 games soon. It requires a
minimum 5mbps Internet connection in order to provide a good gaming
experience. PS Now on Samsung smart TVs will only be available to
consumers in the United States and Canada at launch, and will be
showcased at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, which is scheduled to
take place in Las Vegas from January 6-9.
- Lizard Squad Takes Credit for PSN and Xbox Live Outages on
Christmas - TechCrunch is reporting that Lizard Squad is
taking credit for Christmas day DDoS attacks on PlayStation Network and
Xbox Live. Lizard Squad Live Interview w BBC Radio
- Hackers allegedly behind Xbox and PlayStation network shutdown
set sights on Tor - The group that allegedly took down Microsoft
and Sony's gaming networks now says it's set its sights on a new
target. Lizard Squad, which took credit for denial of service attacks
that kept
Xbox Live and PlayStation Network offline over Christmas, tweeted
yesterday that it was going after the Tor encryption service. Tor's
service was flooded with new relays - the routers that users' data is
passed between in order to make it untraceable - with the name
LizardNSA. "Hi, do you guys still give away shirts for relay
owners? We need about 3000," Lizard Squad bragged on Twitter. A member of Reddit's
Technology board noted the influx, and security researcher Nadim
Kobeissi posted a similar shot.
- The Open Bay helps launch 372 "copies" of The Pirate Bay in a
week, becomes GitHub's most popular project - The Open Bay,
which lets anyone with "minimal knowledge of how the
Internet and websites work" deploy their own version of The Pirate Bay
online, is becoming an open source engine of The Pirate Bay website,
the group told VentureBeat in an email. "The fate of Open Bay is now in
the hands of worldwide community." So far, 372 "copies" of The Pirate
Bay have been created thanks to the project. The torrent database dump,
which combines content from isoHunt, KickassTorrents (via its public
API), and The Old Pirate Bay, has seen 1,256 downloads to date. The
Open Bay has been forked 522 times and starred 1,841 times. As a
result, it is this week's most popular project on GitHub.

- Hear the new Cadillac CTS-V torture some tires - The 2016
Cadillac CTS-V seems like the type of wonderful gift that
Santa might cook up in his workshop for one extraordinarily good boy or
girl. However, the first chance for most people to actually see the
super sedan and its carbon fiber pieces in real life is at the 2015
Detroit Auto Show in January. As a stocking stuffer until then, Caddy
has released this video highlighting the latest V-Series roasting its
tires better than any dinner for the holidays. With the supercharged
6.2-liter V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 nestled into the CTS-V's
engine bay, the Cadillac certainly has quite a bark coming from its
exhaust. The mill might be detuned slightly from the 'Vette to 640
horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, but that's still plenty for
this smoky application. Enjoy this tease of the future V-Series, ahead
of the Detroit show.
