Co-op play is made easy by way of the excellent inventory management system.
Sharing items between players, either in AI or co-op mode, is simple matter
of selecting them and hitting a button. Discussing who will take what gun
and when will surely provide some interesting tactical strategy.
- Ensemble Games co-founder launches Robot Entertainment - Ensemble
Studios co-founder Tony Goodman and a number of other former members of the
now-defunct developer
have formed a new studio called Robot Entertainment. Details on the
studio's current projects are unavailable, and it's unclear whether Robot
Entertainment will maintain a focus on the PC realtime strategy genre in
which the Ensemble team specialized, or try new arenas

A
new trailer for World in Conflict: Soviet Assault offers a cheery look
at the beginning of World War III in Berlin in an alternate reality 1989.
The clip features cinematic footage, and narration by Jack Donaghy.
- 2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K9 PC Announced - A Windows
version of 2K Sports Major League Baseball 2K9 is in the works, even though
no plans for a PC edition of the sports simulation have been announced. A
new trailer for the game is on the
game's
official website that concludes with the PC logo, and the site lists a
PC edition with the same March 3 release date as its console brethren

BETandRACE gives you the opportunity to race in real cities, with
authentic cars against real opponents for real money. As well as Paris, you

- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Patch v6.0 -
Another unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is now
available, updating the action/RPG from closed developer Troika Games to
version 6.0.
- Mezmer Games Distro Announced -
Mezmer Games is a
newly announced digital distribution portal for independent games from
emerging developers, as well as a community where these developers can
interact with their audience. Word is: "The first titles released under the
new label are Legio, a strategy game best described as a mix between chess
and real-time strategy, and Stalin vs. Martians, an action/arcade real-time
strategy game where the Soviet Army faces an alien invasion during World War
2. Both titles are slated for a Q2 2009 release."
- Left 4 Dead now 50% off via Steam - Valve is promoting one of
their own games this weekend for their regular weekend Steam sale. It's
their latest title Left 4 Dead and for this weekend only you will be able to
purchase and download the zombie
co-op
shooter game for just $24.99. That's a 50 percent discount from its
regular $49.99.
- GoG.com racing weekend - You will have to put in a special code,
posted on
the sales page, in order to get your discount. The games in the sale
include titles like FlatOut, Colin McRae Rally 2005 and Screamer. The latter
game is a new addition to GoG.com's line-up. First released in 1995 by
Interplay the game's normal price on GoG.com is $5.99. It includes a free
game sountrack. This weekend you can get a number of PC titles for less at
the site. These include Fallout 3 for $32.90 and the Collector's Edition of
the game for $49.90. The Collector's Editions for Age of Conan and Warhammer
Online are also on sale for $19.90 and $39.90, respectively. Again these
prices are for this weekend only..

Impulse service has put their own game Galactic Civilizations II on sale
this weekend only. The Ultimate Bundle pack contains the original space
strategy game along with its two expansion packs for just $39.95 compared to
its normal $49.95 price. Also this weekend, Impulse has Paradox
Interactive's Europa Universalis III and its two expansion packs on sale for
10 percent off each. Meanwhile,
Gamersgate has put
in Egosoft's space sim game X3: Reunion on sale at its site. This weekend
you can purchase and download the game for just $4.99, a 50 percent discount
from its normal price.
- Noby Noby Boy Downloadable Madness (PSN) - Noby (gameplay
trailer), set to be released on PlayStation Network next Thursday for
$5, was explained by Takahashi on the
PlayStation blog:
"Basically players can control and stretch Boy, the main character of the
game. As players stretch Boy, the lengths to which he grows are uploaded to
a persistent character known as Girl, who grows at the same rate as the
combined length of all the players in the world.
- Self-taught coder takes $660K in one month with iPhone game -
Ethan Nicholas, a bedroom coder who created an iPhone game called
iShoot, has raked in more than $600,000 in one month from Apples App Store.
Shoot’s a tank artillery game, and was launched in January. The title earned
Nicholas $37,000 in its first day.
