- Crusader Kings II Announced - Paradox
Interactive today announced that it has started
development on Crusader Kings II. The follow-up to the highly-acclaimed
grand-strategy title Crusader Kings, CK2 promises to take the franchise
to the next level. In Crusader Kings 2, players will get to control one
of the great Christian Dynasties of the West, attempt to conquer all of
Europe and liberate the Holy Land. Crusader Kings 2 is
scheduled for release in Q1 2012.
- Left 4 Dead 'The Sacrifice' $DLC Announced - Last
night on GameTrailers TV, the latest bit of
Left 4 Dead $DLC was announced. Apparently it'll work with both L4D1
and 2, takes place during the same time as 'The Passing' $DLC and will
finally answer the question about how the two groups came together.
With the update also Valve's making it so you can play 'No Mercy' in
the Left 4 Dead 2 engine. Also, you'll get to pick which original
survivor dies. No release date or price announced, but expect it to be
free on PC and some price on Xbox 360.
- RAGE PC Interview - ShackNews has a conversation from
QuakeCon with Matt Hooper asking some PC-specific questions about RAGE,
id Software's upcoming first-person shooter.
- BioShock Infinite Multiplayer in Doubt - The
first BioShock game had no multiplayer mode, a rarity for first-person
shooters. BioShock 2, which was overseen by a different creative team,
added multiplayer. The series' next game may not, BioShock's original
creator told Kotaku. Irrational's
creative director says: 'We have not made any determinations about
multiplayer.'
- New PC Transport Simulator, Cities in Motion
Introduced - At gamescom 2010, Paradox Interactive unveiled a new game called Cities in Motion
(trailer). The PC title, being
developed by Colossal Order, is set across four European cities and
allows players to develop and operate public transport.
- Ship Simulator Extremes Release trailer unveiled -
Developer VSTEP and publisher Paradox Interactive today
unveiled the Ship Simulator Extremes release trailer,
featuring for the very first time, final gameplay footage.
- Kings and Castles Video Blog #28 - Chris Taylor's Kings and Castles Video Blog
Episode # 28 is online, offering a look at some of Chris' old
games and hardware, and posing a question to fans asking what version
of DirectX they should use as the baseline for Kings and Castles,
expressing a preference for DX15, but hoping for our feedback.
- PC H.A.W.X. 2 Delayed - The PC
edition of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is being delayed, and is now expected on
October 1. The Xbox 360 version of H.A.W.X 2 is still set for release
on September 3, but the PS3 version won't arrive for another week -
September 10. The Wii version has been delayed indefinitely - It won't
be arriving until some time in Q4.
- Elemental Demo Coming Next Month - A
playable demo for Elemental: War of Magic is planned for next month.
- Lineage II Addict Lawsuit - A federal
judge has refused to dismiss a lawsuit filed against NCsoft by
Craig Smallwood of Hawaii, who is seeking unspecified damages, claiming
he was so addicted to Lineage II he was 'unable to function
independently in usual daily activities such as getting up, getting
dressed, bathing or communicating with family and friends.'
- Valve: PS3 is incredibly important to us - Valve's
love-hate relationship with the PS3 seems to be over. After a rocky
start, coupled with some nasty words here and there from Valve's
Software head Gabe Newell, the studio seems pretty determined to win
back its fans and has once again reaffirmed their support to the
console. Speaking to CVG at Gamecom, the
studios project manager Erik Johnson said: "PS3 is incredibly important
to us. We don't feel that the PS3 users had the Valve experience that
we like to deliver. So it that case it's incredibly important to us; we
kind of fix everything wrong in the products that we delivered before
for the PS3, which we thought were good but weren't quite the
Valve experience."
- Gran Turismo 5 Previews (PS3) - GameSpot, IGN, Eurogamer and 1UP have each posted a preview of
Polyphony Digital's highly anticipated racing sim, Gran
Turismo 5. The game is currently scheduled for
release on November 2.
- New PSP Will Have Touch Sensitive Controls - Sony's
current vision for the next-generation PlayStation Portable is roughly
the same size as the PSP-3000 and has touch controls on the reverse of
the unit. According to three separate development
sources who have seen and used the new PSP, the screen is
rich and detailed but the headline feature is the way games are
controlled - by a touch-sensitive area on the back of the unit behind
the screen.
- PS3 Modchip Video Guide in HD Arrives - French
Team XavBox has posted up a French PS JailBreak Installation guide
and some pictures.
