The weekend is here at last! What will you PC gamers be playing? Yesterday I've tried Dreamkiller PC. I'd really like to know if anyone agrees that this game really just sucks a fat one. Ridiculously repetitive and boring gameplay. Besidees, the mouse control seemed ridiculously inconsistent. I often found myself shooting rockets into walls next to me on accident, over and under-aiming, and missing people right in front of me -- and I wasn't even drunk! ;-) Meh... I dunno guys. Uninstalled.
  • Borderlands Retail PC Buyers Aren't Allowed to Play Yet  - Borderlands PC is available through stores in countries like Austria and Germany. However, those who bought the game are not allowed to play yet thanks to 2K's decision to restrict playing until the official release date. Apparently the information that you may not play until the 26th is not on the retail box.
  • Aliens vs Predator Interview - Gametrailers posted a video interview with Darius Sadeghian, producer of Rebellion's Aliens VS Predator. 18 player multiplayer gaming (one assumes 6v6v6), and 'a full player co-op survival mode' confirmed!
  • Dragon Age: Origins Trailers - GameTrailers has a new Dragon Gameplay trailer, Deathbed Gameplay trailer, and a new Shut Up Tree trailer.[
  • Star Trek Online Trailer - A new Star Trek Online trailer offers a cinematic look at some space and ground combat in Cryptic's upcoming Trekkified MMORPG
  • Metal Drift Demo  - Steam has a playable demo for Metal Drift, allowing you to test out this futuristic first-person vehicular sport/combat game where players pilot armed hover-tanks in single-player or multiplayer play.[
  • Biggest UT2004 Barrel Explosion Ever! - Destructoid links a pretty neat YouTube video showing the biggest UT2004 explosion EVER!
  • Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Coming Soon - Square Enix issued a press release today detailing the Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection which includes all previous expansion packs and add-on scenarios and will available to download on November 12th, 2009. he Ultimate Collection will include the original FINAL FANTASY XI and all four expansion packs to take your adventure even further. These include Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess, plus three recently released add-on scenarios comprising 'A Crystalline Prophecy - Ode of Life Bestowing,' 'A Moogle Kupo d'Etat - Evil in Small Doses,' and 'A Shantotto Ascension - The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born.'
  • Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Pre-Load Now Available - Valve just sent along a press release letting us know that people who pre ordered Left 4 Dead 2 can now pre-load it in anticipation of its release early next week. The early access demo will begin on October 27th, that's just a little over three days away now! The early access demo is available to both Xbox 360 owners and PC owners of the game.
  • Fourth Tales of Monkey Island chapter due next week - Telltale revealed that the fourth chapter in the series, The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood, is due for its digital download release sometime next week.
  • Armada 2526 Announced - Matrix Games announces they will publish Armada 2526, Ntronium Games' upcoming "spiritual successor" to Armada 2525, a space opera game released in 1991.
  • Order of War Free DLC - Steam News announces free DLC for Order of War is now available to celebrate the one month anniversary of Wargaming.net's World War II strategy game
  • New Age of Conan Pricing - As of now the 3 month subscription offers a 20% discount, 6 month subscription yields a 30% discount and 12 month offers a 45% discount vs the regular one month plan. This is more than twice the discount than before. In addition, it is now possible to purchase additional gametime and immediately get the veteran points. Veteran points is a system where players are rewarded for each month they have subscribed, and can be used towards a variety of items. Veteran points will launch with the coming update which is due very soon, and will work backwards in time towards all gametime you have purchased.
  • DirectX 11 Benchmark - Unigine Engine Website announces the release of Heaven Benchmark, which they claim is the "first" DirectX 11 benchmark, though it also supports DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL

Borderlands - What do expect from corporations these days .. truth ?? You dont think they'd preempt any bad publicity regarding how crap the game is before its actual release ? Dont trust a game if they cant release a demo first, expect usual regurgitated trash, i for one will not bother with this.

Pretty obvious by not putting 'game locked' blah blah on the purchase box -if that is the case, i don't intend to buy it?- then they have broken trading standards ruling. Namely the item must be fit for purpose on day of purchase and thereafter, if not a full refund must be given. What a bunch of ass wipes! Digital downloads are different as it states BEFORE you purchase it is locked untill....blah

I haven't looked at Dreamkiller (will most likely give it a miss now) but I've mainly been playing Risen lately. For a PC rpg it's pretty good, although the story is kinda slow. It's worth checking out.
Before that, I was playing the new Wolfenstein, which was hilariously easy. Just imagine an fps where you gradually unlock godmode. Unless you're new to fps games, I wouldn't recommend wasting time with it.

Dreamkiller sucks balls, indeed.

I also think it's locked at 40 fps. WTF? But maybe it's just my system. I will have a 5850 by the end of the week and I will retest.

I'm addicted to playing Call of Pripyat, with rus-eng translation; loving every minute of it, and by far the best in the series.

Once I get that out of the way, I'll probably make a start on Uncharted 2 :D
