Avatar: The Game Launch Trailer - In conjunction with the worldwide release of Avatar, Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for James Cameron's Avatar: The Game
King Arthur Demo - Here's a playable demo for King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame. It includes a tutorial and a section from the main campaign. The 2GB download can also be found on AtomicGamer, BigDownload
Splinter Cell: Conviction PC: No Dedicated Server Support - The news was announced in an official Q&A about the game's multiplayer component. Well, I think the much bigger issue here is that Conviction's idea of 'stealth' is sneaking into a room and then blowing everyone away with a shotgun :-)
Saboteur Beta Patch v1.03 - The Saboteur Website now offers a beta patch v1.03 to address problems playing the World War II stealth/action game under ATI accelerators.
The Sims 3 Patch #6 (1.8.25) - EA has released the sixth patch for The Sims 3. Version 1.8.25 fixes several problems and introduces enhancements to the game. To work correctly the latest patches have to be installed in a certain order. At first you have to upgrade the original installation with patch 1.6.6 followed by patch 1.7.9. After this step you can install patch 1.8.25. Alternatively there is also a full patch that can be directly applied to the original version of the game. There's also patch for The Sims 3: World Adventures, updating the add-on to version 2.3.33
Left 4 Dead 2 & TF2 Updated - An update for TF2 was just released. Steam also offers a new automatic patch for Left 4 Dead 2. The new version of the co-op zombie shooter sequel includes dedicated server and multiplayer fixes similar to the patch for the original Left 4 Dead released earlier.
Torchlight Updated with Steam Achievements - Torchlight players have even more of a reason to keep on playing. Runic Games have released an update that is now live on Steam, bringing along Steam achievements as well as cloud support. Additionally, you can buy it for 50% off the normal price.
Modern Warfare 2 PS3 Patch Live, PC/360 Waiting on Approval - FYI, MW2 PS3 patch just went live! Includes the Akimbo 1887s re-balancing, fix for Prestige hack, & fix for Public "private" Match. The Xbox 360 version will be getting the same, just waiting on ETA on it's release. PC gets same plus fix for hacked textures & altered IWDs

Army of Two: The 40th Day demo gameplay video - VG247 has 20 minutes of playing Army of Two: The 40th Day, the demo of which released for both 360 and PS3 yesterday. The game is out on January 15
MotoGP 09-10 - Push Your Limits Trailer - As the most comprehensive MotoGP game to date, MotoGP 09/10 (PS3, Xbox 360). will not only deliver all the bikes, riders and tracks from the 2009 championship, but brand new gameplay modes that offer rewards to the rider for their riding style. Furthermore, players will have the ability to update the game with accurate real-time content from the 2010 championship at no extra cost. The new trailer shows us that in order to compete you'll need to reach your limit and go beyond it. The game, which has been developed by Monumental Games and will be published by Capcom, will be available for purchase in March 2010.

Pre-order Heavy Rain for PS3 and Get The Heavy Rain Chronicles - Sony has announced that those of you who Pre-Order their upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive quicktime-event-driven adventure title, Heavy Rain, will receive the first episode of The Heavy Rain Chronicles (valued at $4.99 each episode) titled, 'Heavy Rain: Chronicle One - The Taxidermist,' which will be available (only to those who pre-order) when Heavy Rain hits store shelves.
Sony's PS2 Emulator Won't Arrive on PS3 Until Late 2010 - According to PSInsider, the recently discovered PS2 emulator Sony has added won't arrive on the PS3 console until late 2010. While PS3 Firmware 3.15 added support for Sony's PSP emulator to the PlayStation 3, PS2 fans may want to check out Open PS2 Loader for PS3 until fall of next year. In related news, for those who don't yet own a PS3, it's nice to know that Sony intends to continue fully supporting the PS2 console in 2010. Sony is seeking to emphasize that the PlayStation 2 has an extensive game library in comparison to the Nintendo Wii.

After seeing Avatar in 3D, i wouldn't even buy the DVD or Blu ray copy -never mind a CRAP game port. That film, aside from the hollywood plot, has defined the future of cinema. just like DVD and blu ray, you just can't watch boring DVD ever again for sound nor visuals.
The saddest part is that we will NEVER see those 3D vsuals in our homes that are portrayed at the cinema. When was the last time you ever said that???
Blu ray kicks the ass off every film i've ever watched at the cinema (Avatar aside), PC gaming visuals have always been the best also, but boy are you made to feel genuinely sterile after watching Avatar....i even seen a trailer for Shrek the final in 3D, WOW!!.....Those depth of field shots and cockpit shots are mind blowing,imagine a PC flight sim that looked REALLY like that? Aint never,ever going to happen.

Sorry hx, what i meant was the 3D size. Like on a 60 foot cinema screen 8)

Mind you, i can have prob about 56-60" as a flatscreen TV, so when 3D is *affordable* at that size that's when i'll prob be happy :lol:

Guess Windows and PC's ain't the only thing he's out of touch with. Woh. Bluray just got 3D too, backwards compatible. Nvidia worked with Sony on the specification so it should all work out on PC if you have a Bluray player like me. 3D Bluray will play on your PS3 in the summer and look just as good if not better than cinema. I know on my screen everything on bluray looks a million times better than the theater. I have a 60" LCD and it will look fantastic enough on that.
