WeedHack Malware Infects 116,000+ Minecraft Systems in Growing Campaign - briefly

A new malware campaign called WeedHack has infected over 116,000 Minecraft systems since January 2026, stealing passwords, session IDs, and cryptocurrency wallets.

The malware spreads through malicious Minecraft mods, clients, cheats, and tools promoted on YouTube videos and SEO-poisoned search results for popular clients like Meteor, Wurst, and Radium.

Once installed via fake JAR files, WeedHack acts as an infostealer, harvesting credentials from browsers, crypto apps, Discord, Steam, and Telegram, while also taking screenshots.

It operates as Malware-as-a-Service with a free web dashboard for attackers and premium upgrades ($5/month or $25 lifetime) that add remote access, keylogging, and webcam spying.

Most victims are located in the United States, Germany, India, and the United Kingdom, with new infections averaging 2,000–3,000 systems per day.

Security researchers warn players to avoid unofficial Minecraft downloads and only use mods from trusted sources to avoid falling victim to this rapidly expanding campaign.
