    Dark Messiah of Might and Magic MP preview - The multiplayer gameplay of Dark Messiah will feature the traditional deathmatch and team deathmatch that we've come to expect out of most games, and while a little mayhem can be a lot of fun, we were more interested in checking out crusade mode, which bears a bit of a resemblance to that of the popular Battlefield games. That's to be expected, since one of the key members of the Dark Messiah team is Romain de Waubert de Genlis, who was one of the creators of the Battlefield franchise. However, crusade isn't a Battlefield clone. As we discovered, it borrows some of the ideas of Battlefield, such as class-based warfare and capturing objectives, and adds continuity and role-playing elements to it.
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator X preview - One of the biggest additions to gameplay (aside from new planes) are the 50 missions. These include goals that range from beginner to expert in difficulty and will challenge players to complete various tasks outside the range of a normal flight plan.

  • Battlefield: Bad Company Info - The new print issue of Game Informer magazine has the first details on Battlefield: Bad Company. The game takes place in the near future as it follows a group of soldiers to hot spots around the world (details on the storyline are still being kept secret). The article promotes not only Bad Company's improved graphical engine but also its gameplay physics. If your character is near an explosion, for example, the character's neck might suffer from whiplash.   • Unreal Tournament 2007 Full Length Gameplay Movie - There's a shakycam full length gameplay video from GC in Leipzig. This video is 5 minutes long instead of the short 2 minute trailer we already saw.
  • Time Machinima Trailer - Time is the new machinima brought to you by the creator of Requiem, Anthony Perfetto. It is the tale of an ex-military with severe amnesia and no recollection of the last 7 months of his life. It is a story of how one man finds a way to take back his life and another tries to control it. Time is an action/adventure/thriller with massively constructed custom maps and beautifully designed custom skins. Each distinct model will allow you to get inside the movie and become attached to each character as hardships ensue.   • Perimeter: Emperor's Testaments hips - Paradox Interactive announces that Perimeter: Emperor's Testament, the standalone RTS expansion, is now available in North America and Scandinavia. Perimeter: Emperor's testament is retailing for $19.99/19.99 Euros and is rated Everyone 10+ by ESRB and 12+ by PEGI. The game is launching simultaneously on Gamer's Gate.
  • DoW40k Beta 4 - The guys behind the DoW40k modification for Dawn of War have released a playable beta. This mod, formerly known as Rebirth, attempts to bring Dawn of War closer to the Warhammer tabletop game.
  • More Company of Heroes Keys coming - 15,000 Keys are going up on Fileplanet on Wednesday via Fileplanet. Paid subscription will not be required to get a key! Word is: "sers with FREE Registered FilePlanet accounts can request a key and enjoy cinematic, strategic action across 3 different maps in online multiplayer."
  • Prey Patch Today - The 3D Realms Forums offer that news along with a change list for the patch, saying: "This is a tech/bug fix patch, there are no new game play elements in this update (nor are there any planned for the future). Please note that the previously announced "new content" (maps, multiplayer skins) is not part of this update, and will be made available at a later date."
  • RuneStorm Map Pack 1 UT2k4 Coming Soon - This pack, includes 8 maps - RuneStorm, which features 7 DM, and 1 ONS map. It includes 3 music tracks made by us as well, that were available in our previously released Music Pack. Also included in the 8 maps, are 3 maps players may have seen before. Gaurdain and Depot, which were released back in BW v1.50, and Serpent, which was released with JunkWar.
  • Oblivion: Spell Tomes Plug-in - This Thursday Bethesda will be releasing The Elder Scrolls IV: Spell Tomes plug-in. Word is: "This pack adds "Spell Tomes" to the world's random treasure.   • Genesis Rising: The Universal Crusade Delayed - Metamorf Studios' science fiction RTS game is now scheduled for release in "early 2007."
  • Reservoir Dogs Xbox Pulled From UK Shelves - Apparently Xbox gamers will have to wait a bit longer to play Reservoir Dogs on their consoles. The game has been recalled in the UK due to an unspecified printing error. As for North America, Amazon.com lists September 19 as the game's release date, though they distressingly only have listings up for the Xbox and PS2 editions, and no mention of the PC game.
  • Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express Interview -  Today Microsoft is releasing the first PC beta version of XNA Game Studio Express and FiringSquad has posted an interview with Dave Mitchell, the Director of Marketing for Microsoft's Game Developer Group as he talks about the tools.
  • Wii: Madden Demonstration - A 9 minute long video demonstrating Madden 07 for the Wii .
  • Can the PS3 Save Sony - Delays are nothing new in tech, but Sony seemed intent on making the worst of it. The crowd was kept waiting nearly an hour. Then Kaz Hirai, who heads PlayStation in North America, took the stage to declare, "The next generation doesn't start until we say it does!"
  • Xbox 360 HD-DVD Add On Not Coming To Asia - Apparently MS has decided not to release the HD-DVD add on for the Xbox 360 in Asia due to a lack of HD-DVD movies there.

Sounds like I might be picking up Dark Messiah, I'm a big MP fan. So, yeah! ^-^

Oh and it the Wii Madden 07 demo was interesting. Its interesting, but it seems like it might be over-complicated in some aspects, while over-simplistic in others. Not sure if I would like it.

I mean, the whole pointing and clicking thing is just a big time waster in my opinion. It will probably end up causing a fair share of headaches when trying to get a play together in a matter of seconds. (Versuses just hitting a few buttons and getting the play that you want).

On the flip side, the catching and switching up plays on the fly seems less than easy to do in the heat of the last few seconds in a game. It just seems like they made the game so it was intentionally to appeal to the people who actually own the Wii (most likely not hardcore madden fans). Smart move, but still kind of sucks for people who do enjoy a good game of madden, like myself. Maybe a 360 isn't such a bad idea after all.
