- 3.05GHz AMD faces off 3.68GHz Core Extreme -
The Core2 Extreme goes up to
3.68GHz and the Athlon FX 64 up to 3.05GHz. AMD's performance increased by
just over 7% while the Core went all the way up by nearly 17%!
- Core Duo - Core 2 Duo Laptop CPU Swap -
PCPerspective has taken the new
Core 2 Duo T7400 processor and slapped it in a Dell XPS M1710 laptop that
originally came equipped with a T2600 Core Duo processor. Is it worth the swap
or should you just leave well enough alone?

- Corsair Introduces Power Supplies -
Both power supplies have two PCI
Express power connectors and have been tested with ATI CrossFire and NVIDIA
SLI system configurations. Efficiency is rated around 80% with an active
PFC. Power supply cooling is provided by a single 120MM double ball-bearing
fan for silent operation while keeping the ambient temperatures at around 50
degrees Celsius.

- Firefox 1.5.0.6 Final - Mozilla has released
version 1.5.0.6 of Firefox, fixing
the issue with playing Windows Media content. In other news,
Firefox Portable, which runs from a USB flash drive, iPod or CD, has also
been updated.
- Virus Writers Create PowerShell Worm -
Virus writers already have created
a proof-of-concept worm that targets the Microsoft's scripting shell,
formerly code-named "Monad." PowerShell is slated to debut as part of Exchange
Server 2007 in late 2006 or early 2007.
- Apple Patches 26 Security Flaws - Apple has released
a security update today repairing 26 vulnerabilities in OS X and its
bundled applications. In related news, The
Washington Post has an interesting bit on a couple guys who can hijack a
MacBook Pro in 60 seconds or less and have total control of the machine.
- Windows on Mac: BootCamp vs Parallels Desktop -
BootCamp will always deliver the maximum performance to your Windows apps,
but Parallels Desktop offers greater flexibility and an easier, safer
installation process. It's also the better product for quickly dipping in and
out of Windows - or any of the other x86-based operating systems it, unlike
BootCamp, supports.
- Microsoft introduces revamped MySpace rival -
Dubbed Windows Live Spaces,
the site replaces MSN Spaces, which Microsoft claims is the world's most used
blogging community. Windows Live Spaces is integrated with other Windows Live
services, as well, including Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail.

AOL will become more similar to
Yahoo, offering a media portal with free content and communication tools.

The solar panel collects solar

- Carter & Hooper Confirmed for Harry Potter 5 -
Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed that Helena Bonham Carter has joined
the all-star cast of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Bonham Carter
will play Bellatrix Lestrange, Sirius Black's cousin and a Death Eater, who is
one of Lord Voldemort's followers. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
will be released on July 13, 2007.
