- Major S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Update Coming -
C&VG is reporting that developer GSC GameWorld is planning to release
what they are calling a major update to their recent post apocalypse first
person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. According to the story,
the update will include a new Freeplay mode which will have "no story tasks,
including only the A-life driven ones, where the goal is to gain ranks,
climb up in rankings, so as to become the best S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in the Zone."
- ArmA: Armed Assault Patch v1.08 - The official Bohemia Interactive forum offers offers
a new version 1.08 patch for
both the US and international editions of
ArmA: Armed
Assault, their military shooter. The patch weights massive 564MB and
includes many fixes. The patch is is mirrored on
FileFront,
Gamer's
Hell, and The
Patches Scrolls. Also, the
Atari Forums now offer a new ArmA: Combat Operations standalone
dedicated server corresponding to the new client.
- Need for Speed: Carbon Patch v1.4 -
The new version (reg.required) addresses a couple of Vista-specific

- The Guild 2 retail patch v1.30 - Hot on the heels of the European
updates, Aspyr has now issued
the
US and UK retail patch for The Guild 2, likewise bringing this edition
of the medieval role-playing strategy sequel by 4HEAD Studios to version 1.3
- The Sims 2: Seasons Patch v1.7.0.157 -
TheSims2.com offers a new patch for The Sims 2: Seasons, updating the
wee people expansion to version 1.7.0.157. Word is: "Not all fixes will take
effect on existing The Sims 2 Seasons saved games. If you have an existing
lot, Sim, object or neighborhood that does not seem to be improved by this
patch, we recommend that you replace the affected object, or create either a
new family, lot or neighborhood, depending on what is affected by the bug. "
- Two Worlds patch v1.4 - Reality Pump has released another
new patch updating Two Worlds to version 1.4. This update brings a
considerable improvement in both gameplay and technical terms and is not to
be missed by anyone who's been lured into Two Worlds' rich and incredibly
detailed universe
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Patch v3.8 -
A new Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines patch is now available,
updating the Source-engine vampire game to version 3.7
- Wildlife Park 2 Patch v1.23 -
A new
Wildlife Park 2 patch updates the theme park sequel to version 1.23.
- Simcity Societies Officially Announced - Electronic Arts
sent out
a press release officially announcing that
SimCity Societies is in
development and is scheduled to be released in November 2007.. Featuring an
all-new, revolutionary feature set, SimCity Societies allows players to
construct not only the cities they desire, but create their cultures,
societal behaviors and environments as well.
- Dark Sector Delayed To 2008 - Originally scheduled for release
this fall,
a spokesperson for the game's publisher D3Publishing has now told
FiringSquad, "We've decided to pull Dark Sector out of a very crowded
holiday season and it is now slated for release in Q1 2008." The questions
about the release date for the game began after retail sites like Gamestop
showed a new Jan. 15 2008 release date for Dark Sector.

Techland's wild west shooter is now available in the US.
- BlizzCon 2007 Tickets On Sale -
The official
BlizzCon web site is now selling tickets to the upcoming Blizzard themed
event at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA on Aug. 3-4. As
previously announced tickets are $100 each and people can buy up to five
tickets per mailing address.
